i am not sure but is dominique in the hall of fame?

i am not positive of their averages but i've always viewed vince as a poor man's dominique though vince had the skills and physical gifts to be a far superior player than what he is now.

Dominique carried the Hawks for many years. The problem with Nique is that he played way past his prime looking for a ring.

Nahh, Vince Carter, despite his early injuries with the raptors has been consistently good for the last 6-7 years. Plus he has made it past the first round many times and almost single handedly led the Raptors past the Phillies that year (but was one shot short).

Tmac on the other hand has really been derailed by injuries and hasn't really achieved anything team wise either

Not just no, but hell no.

Vince's career highlight was leading the Raptors to a seventh game in the second round in a very, very weak Eastern Conference.

Yes, he's put up points and highlight dunks, but you've got to win games and have some playoff success to make the HOF.

He made basquetbol relevant in Canada ey and had those cool commercials with the afro playing street ball in nyc. Considering it's the NBA hall of fame, that should be more than enough.

Remember all the controversy for attending his graduation?
He's had his fair share of memorable moments.

Maybe if the Hall has a wing dedicated to dunking.

What you should be looking at:

    * With Raptors: Eliminated in the 1st round once, eliminated in the second round once.
    * With Nets: Eliminated in the 1st round once, eliminated in the second round twice.
    * With Magic: Eliminated in the 3rd round (playing second fiddle to Dwight Howard).

I don't think that's enough to make it to the HOF.

I must have missed the string of ten consecutive years those guys made All-Defensive teams. And the seven consecutive years they made All-NBA teams. And their multiple All-Star selections. And all those years they spent as the second best player on championship teams. And...

Posted this in the HOF thread.

Vince Carter? No. No way. He just doesn't have anything to push him over. He has one Rookie of the Year award. And has two All NBA appearances (one in second team, one in third). He was never in the top 5 in MVP at any given year (Only got to 10 once). He has scored 20k points but he hasn't done nothing really great. He fits the mold of someone who was really good for a few years but never great. Hell, T-Mac accomplished more with less years than Carter has in terms on individual success. I just don't see him in the HOF.

He did have a little playoff success (if you want to call it that) so there is that.

BTW he's about to reach 20500 pt mark, and everyone with 20500+ pt is either in HOF or going in HOF.

Ummm.....Pippen won 6 rings holding Jordan's jock, though. What exactly has Vince Carter done in his career to equates to being HALL OF FAME great?? He'll go down as being exceptionally gifted, and an incredible talent, but HALL OF FAME?? Nah.

If he plays well enough to get 25,000 points, he is a lock.

Pippen was a beast defender and also was able to get the Bulls to ECF without Jordan.

Yes, Vince belongs in the hall -- if he would have had a sidekick (looking at you Tracy) he would have won some championships. That being said he is an Olympic gold medalist led by our very own Rudy T.
