TMac doesn't have the spirit of sports any more. <object width="425" height="344"><param name="movie" value="http://www.youtube.com/v/2XTGBOKqccw&hl=en&fs=1"></param><param name="allowFullScreen" value="true"></param><param name="allowscriptaccess" value="always"></param><embed src="http://www.youtube.com/v/2XTGBOKqccw&hl=en&fs=1" type="application/x-shockwave-flash" allowscriptaccess="always" allowfullscreen="true" width="425" height="344"></embed></object>
If TMac's knee really is hurting I would shut him down until it was 100%. His in and out of the offense has really hurt the teams chemistry. If his knee is healthy enough to play then he is playing as if he has mailed in the rest of his career.
You might think this makes sense but his knee has been an issue dating back to his Orlando years, IIRC. It's always going to be an issue to some degree. The silver lining is magically his injuries seem to go away or become a non-issue once the playoffs arrive. The fact that he plays his heart out in the postseason and goes down swinging is one of the few positive things I have left to say about him.
That idiot hockey guy might have been right about tmac. Would jameer nelson, Dhoward, etc. be as good with mcgrady. However I think mcgrady is still value he has 21 million dollar contract that is coming off the books. I am sure we can get some one good for that.
McGrady definitely has trade value. A lot of teams are looking forward to 2010, and to them, his contract would be gold. Even second-tier teams that haven't been planning for 2010 may be convinced to drop their ambitions now and build for the future around McGrady's contract. Plus, McGrady is still a big enough name to keep fans interested in the seasons before 2010. BUT at this point, I personally wouldn't trade him unless heavily in the Rockets' favor. I haven't given up on this year.
Beginning of the season I was thinking Tmac for Rudy Gay + Mayo would be nice... I suppouse it's ok to dream
" You will see a fierce T-Mac on the court this season, I can promise you that." only if starts promises like that one at the beginning of the season and actually goes through with them...
Unless Yao and Ron take real ownership of this team, I say give up on this year and get ready for 2010 free agent market and go for D Wade. LBJ is as good as a Knick so no use going after him.
Before the draft...this will definitely be possible. But now with today's situation and how great Mayo has become?? Probably not. See, sometimes in life you have to gamble and Morey does not seem to be that type. That's why he doesn't even listen in the Kobe trade when Lakers' GM say he's willing to listen. But now Kobe has Gasol and playing great....so it's too late now.
The one way I see McGrady having trade value is to use disagreements with the coach and the system as the reason for his struggles. Itd be the GREAT way to boost his trade value to say - McGrady isnt playing well cuz he's sulking and disheartened by the system, but a "change of scenery" would get him back on track....(nothing about his injuries being mentioned of course ) itd get him from 2 trade value to 3.5 but every bit helps. I can quite remember if I was for trading Kobe or not. I think I reluctantly said yeah I'd do it but I wouldnt watch the Rockets in the regular season due to my dislike of him... But I'm thinking Morey woulda been all over that if given a real chance.
Tracy McGrady and luther head to the knicks for wilson chandler, marbury's contract and a first round pivk
