He used to get them in Orlando maybe, but not since he's been with the Rockets.

There were a few times T-Mac drove in the lane and didn't get anything, Wade would have gotten each one of those.

Also, T-Mac never really gets calls on his jumpers.

I think he definitely gets them, but it seems refs let defenders play Tracy very physical. But, yes, last night Artest hit him a couple of times with no call. We also hit Kobe a couple of times last week with no call.

I think Tmac gets robbed by the officials just like Yao does.. I am seriously starting to believe that refs hate Houston.. I could see that since Hakeem's day. he used to get hacked almost every play and never got the calls. not only that, but we had Ewing getting the call he wants every single time.. now, we have similar treatment to Yao, and recently, to Mac.. they dont allow handchecks in the NBA anymore, right? well, refs allow defenders to put their hands on Mac all the way out on the perimeter and they get away with murder very play. that's not mentioning getting hit on every jumpshot. Bullard mentioned this several times. if u look at Mac's jumpshot, he goes up really high and he kicks out his legs, well, defenders always get him on the chest and often on the elbow and guess what? no call.. this thing drives me crazy!

u cant compare the calls Kobe gets to Mac.. Kobe gets a far better treatment than Tmac..

Tmac, Yao, and Truck Hayes always get B.S calls. I dont know what the refs got on Hayes; they just hate him. they blow a whistle everytime he is defending somebody! they also call Deke for 3 secs at least 4 times a game. and JHO gets called for offensive fouls even when he is setting simple screens about twice a game.. I dont know what the refs got on us.. but I really think the Rox organization should complain to the NBA. I like that "Phantom Fouls" thing on Youtube and I seriously think these videos should be sent to the Mr. Stern or Mr. Ronny Nun (spelling?).. can any of you good Rockets fans compile a video of all the plays that we got robbed on by the officials? I think R2K has the whole game archive, I will start watching closely for every call they miss and I will record the time in which it occurred on a piece of paper. then, we can create a thread with everybody contributing to the video and R2K can get us the full video.. this is starting to be real annoying..

(edit: while I am typing, I am watching top 10 plays of 06, Dwade got #4 on a layup plus the foul, but he didn't even get touched by Villanueva.. )

Last night Bill & Matt mentioned that late in the game a ref whistled a Rocket (battier?) before he had actually fouled Artest - in other words they anticipated the foul. :D

    So nice of them.

I've mentioned Justin Farmar before - he climbed on Rafer's back one time on D and no call. Hands all over the place - I think he had one foul that game. Rafer's fingers glance the shoulder of the guard blowing past him for two and there is a high probability of a whistle - of course after the layup goes in for 2. Tmac's defenders at recent TC games have had hands all over him and very very few whistles. DWade and Kobe would be shooting 50x a game if guarded like that.

It does seem like our opponents wingmen are treated more than fairly when we defend. But it seems to swing strongly the other way - allowing the other teams to play very very very physical D on us if they want.

I've always wondered if this could be named the Van Gundy effect?

The NBA is the only American sports league in which I actually believe the referee is intentionally unfair. I think they play angles far too much. You have too many contrived moments to be altogether honest.

there's too many anticipation calls in the nba. don't call it if you don't see it.

i would say no he doesn't. hakeem didn't either. barkley was one of the first and only rockets i can remember getting them (which was one reason i was glad we got him, b/c we'd finally get some calls). but even superstars don't get dwade calls.

that "phantom foul" compilation is hilarious. on 1 and 3 no one makes contact with anyone which makes it ridiculous. in #2 he spears harris and gets the call. and then #5 is the best b/c he just shoves dirk in the chests for no apparent reason and dirk gets the call. and all of that was just from one series!
