Every NBA top 100 players list, I could find the best Rockets player they ranked is Sengun. Others are not even close.

Green and Jabari don’t have great wingspans either man. Alp and Jabari literally have the same wingspan.
Jabari has better feet laterally but I don’t think he’s a much better athlete than Alp if at all.

And I’ve been clear, I don’t think Alp is Batman. But I damn sure think he’s capable of being an elite robin

That would be accepting something that isn’t true.

it took Jokic 7 years to turn into the dominant beast he is today. Give it time. Sengun isnt going anywhere - his weaknesses are glaring but he can work to overcome them. Lopez would be a great veteran for him

Yeah. It’s hard admitting that you’re wrong, right?
There isn’t a metric that proves you right about being a defensive liability. Sorry

Those 3 are hall of fame players. I get where you’re coming, but you also gotta understand that some aren’t as high on him as you are. Time will tell. The problem is that Sengun isn’t the easiest player to just plug and play. It’s not like Jabari or Tari who can just fit into any lineup. It’s all about fit and maybe Sengun doesn’t fit in what they want

Jabari doesn’t fit in a lineup currently, and I have really high hopes for him. His “strengths” were big weaknesses. That’s not a plug and play type right now.
Tari is, but he’s probably my current favorite rocket

Jabari definitely does. He projects to be a high level floor spacer and defender. That’s plug and play, he’s just not very good right now

No, but you could see it at times last season. Sengun is a very smart player and that helps, but his physical limitations lead to "can't play Kanter" moments in some bad matchups. Maybe they can try to coach around his limitations to limit the liability, something Silas DEFINITELY did not do enough of, but I don't think those limitations are ever going anywhere. You can't really "learn" to be more athletic or have quicker feet.

It's quite clear that some aren't as high on him as I am, and I accept that.

On the other hand, I see nothing to support the argument that you can plug Jabari into any lineup any more than you can plug in Sengun. If anything, you can always more easily plug in the guy with the higher basketball IQ and better passing skills.

Projection means you haven’t reached it. Alp projects to be like the current MVP.
Doesn’t mean he makes it there

The fact that Jabari doesn't hesitate on outside shots is why he's more pluggable. He doesn't have to need the ball in the paint to be effective at least with progress in development.

We’re going to disagree on whether he is not athletic. You don’t do some of the things he does and not have athleticism.
Scheme, attention to detail and continuous work on his explosiveness will help.
Either way, no I don’t think he will ever be an elite defender but I think he can be Horford/Looney type

Whatever faction of the front office that have questions about Sengun doesn’t change the fact that the actual people running the front office traded two future firsts and tried to trade as far up as 6th to target Sengun. Sengun did not fall into the Rocket’s lap, they went out of their way to get him. The actual people running the show and have the final say on what moves the organization does.

So this is an overreaction to what a single fan says about some small fringe part of the front office. Again, if they really saw such irredeemable faults in Sengun then they would not have targeted him. It’s not like he has underperformed since being drafted, in fact he has outperformed in every way, so whoever believed in him enough to trade for him on draft night must still believe in him today. And that person holds more sway on the direction of the team than any doubter on Clutchfans, any doubter in the front office, or else Sengun would not be on the Rockets today.

We have a team of 20-21 year olds, bringing in a 35 year old center is in no way shape or form trying to supplant Sengun, because obviously the front office do not view Lopez as the long term solution but just a bridge.
