Does the Rockets front office have a problem with Sengun?

Sengun and Tari are "the untouchables" in this team. theoretically.
But as NBA Franchises are not always rational decision makers, Houston may trade one or both of them. Not desirable but possible action(s).

If they want to trade Sengun 27 out of 29 NBA teams will evaluate the possibility (except Denver and Philly). As long as they don't send him to Knicks/GSW/Celtics, it is OK for me. At least we might watch his pure basketball activities without focusing on Lob Threat conversations,FO concerns and Clutch rumours.

LMAO at Senguns work ethic!?!?..is this a joke?

Dude is naturally skilled as ***, he could sit on his ass during practice for the rest of his life I would not care.

Are we talking about lifting weights? What are we talking about here?

Imagine if this was a thread about Jokic, who clearly is naturally gifted...

I think what Clutch is saying is basically the FO's view on Sengun's ceiling is limited because of his flaws (agree or disagree) - otherwise why could they not start him, etc. This is different for JG because they think the ceiling is higher despite his flaws so they let him play through mistakes. I personally don't think it's a big deal either way, I think younger players can develop by playing as many minutes early OR coming off the bench, I'm just a believer in players taking responsibility of their own development and own careers. Whatever path, whatever coaching decisions, playing time decisions are made, if you're good, if you're a hard worker, you'll be a great player.

    Agree with you.

By that "ceiling" logic, Stromile Swift's ceiling was higher than Jokic's. Or Nerlens Noel's. Or Javale McGee's. They are all "more athletic", just like hundreds other guys.

And Mac McClung's "ceiling" is higher than John Stockton's.

    Whatever.

It's a dumbass argument by "the front office", really.

That's why it'll be better for both parties to trade him rather than letting him rot on the bench and limiting his versatilities.
Do it Stone! Pull the trigger now!

Simply because they don't know ball.

I generally am of the mindset that we should see a player play three years before judging. No use in all this hand-wringing now. Let's see how he and others do in their third year under a respectable coach.

All this seems to be stemming from @Clutch's claims; he should be called out on them and explain himself, rather than let this nonsense go on.

Does the front office not trust Alpi?
Is Ime uncomfortable with starting him?
    Answer please, @Clutch.

    (Is this better, @Os Trigonum?)

Clutch does not speak for Ime.

Ime is just another coach, a better coach, but he can be fired in the end as well.

I can play this game as well, I would like options at coaching as well.

Ime is going have more just this headache. It is not Alpi, I have major doubts about the whole team and for a long time now.

    Ime is not the messiah.

Basketball skill is far more important than traditional athleticism. It has always been that way, or in the modern era.
If you want to say Alp ceiling is limited because he’s not an elite athlete, then by the same logic Jabari has a low ceiling too.
Neither are elite athletes by any stretch, neither are poor athletes by any stretch.
We’re going to be kicking ourselves if we trade Alp and go with a generic rim running center. That puts focus on the guards to be elite. And I’m sorry, the league isn’t a guards league unless you’re the best shooter of all time

He is not going to transform the Rockets into the Bucks, an elite defensive team in one season.

They just need to cool their heads.

Having headaches this early into the offseason. Just cool it.

It feels fake from Ime to preach internal growth and then through other channels say he is not a big believer in certain players.

Certain things are different about the Nuggets.

Malone is probably the biggest believer in Jokic.

And when Sengun was picked, he was a good 16th pick but I am sure there were people who doubted him.

    I agree completely.
I would personally like to see what he has with the guys he’s got, if not we just wasted 3 seasons.
    See what the youngsters have

Y’all know how I feel about Sengun… please stop
Overrating Tari though. His ceiling is a high level role player like OG, so there’s no way he’s untouchable.

TBH, I have never understood this fanbase's infatuation with Tari.
Yeah, he's a veritable Energizer bunny, but his shot isn't great, he can't consistently finish at the rim, his court vision is too narrow and he's lacking in BBIQ.
Would someone explain why he's so special?
