That we have our eyes locked on Smith and Duren instead of being impressed enough with Holmgren or Banchero? Duren is young and raw, but his frame and motor are going to make him a star.
God I hope not. If they like Duren or my guy Smith just take him at #1 or trade down. Doing what you suggest is flying waaaaayyyy too close to the sun imo.
Nah man. They weren’t losing on purpose during the losing streak. They’re playing better ball now and figuring some things out that work. Don’t worry though. Wood’s value is increasing by the day and I expect an extension offer soon- we may not hear about it… but I can almost guarantee that Wood will want more than he’s offered and he will be traded before the deadline. Stone would be a fool not to
Winning is great, but Eric Gordon is trying to make all of our moral victories into actual victories. They need to trade him immediately so we don't end up on the mediocrity-treadmill this year.
That we are playing good basketball and hitting our free throws. We could nearly be at .500 if we didn't have earlier problems of finishing at the line. I want to win every game and that will never change
Like benching your first round quarterback to sit and learn how to play, this prevents us from being the eternal downward spiral known as the Houston Texans.
this suggests silas is a geenyuss afterall. he was tanking with theis on purpose. i'm sorry i ever doubted you silas, you's goat af
he is actually not too bad on defence, just doesn't have the size on him yet to guard the bigger guards.
Look, the penny seems to be dropping that we've not been deliberately tanking, just losing because we were bad. Thankfully the organisation knows more about sports than the tankathon kids, and wants to teach our players to fight rather than lie down.
You mean, a tax on people who aren't good at math? Now we're getting into some REALLY advanced stats... (?)
It suggests that when the worst player on the team goes down with injury, the rest of the Rockets can be pretty decent.
Agreed. It says more about the losing streak than anything Feels like alot of stumbling and bumbling until the threat of being fired was in the mix all of a sudden people stopped experimenting and got serious Rocket River
I'm not for tanking (intentionally losing due to lack of effort), but I am fully for rebuilding (intentionally losing due to playing and developing youth). Eric Gordon, John Wall, and Daniel Theis aren't rebuilding blocks.
This team was never losing on purpose. Never. They were just playing bad basketball because they had no structure and were playing a bunch of guys out of position. Silas finally made some necessary adjustments when the rumor came out that his job might be at stake. I fully expect more experiments, and probably some more losing streaks, because he is still trying to figure out how to work with what he has on this strangely constructed roster. It’s just a weird season.
My bet is that Silas and the staff prepared in the offseason to play a certain way and stubbornly took long to change.
