U know, when posters say kidd is not the same kidd from 5yrs ago, they're right. When posters say this trade helps the rox, they don't watch hoops. Please tell me ur kidding. I mean the nets sux mostly because they have a coach that can't coach. Didn't kidd have like 3 triple doubles in a row?

His leadership isn't overrated because he produces every possession. He breaks down the defense, gets everyone easy shots and he's very tough mentally and physically. The Nets wouldn't even be in the talk of the nba if not for Kidd.

The Rox had trouble with them before, now its pretty much impossible to beat the mavs with kidd. I mean anyone else that says anything else, well I don't know.

If this trade ends up Stackhouse coming back to Dallas after a buy out then Kidd trade will not help us. I hope NJ will not buy out Stackhouse.

Stackhouse seems to be confirming that he's not actually going anywhere.

I agree, with Stack staying, this becomes a troublesome trade for us. Kidd can run a nice break with Terry, Stack, Howard, and Dirk.

they bring kidd for toughness and leadership, more importantly in case they will meet gold state again, Davids wouldn't be a problem.

i think Mav is favor now. for those who want stakeouse to be rocket, forget about it, he will buy out and sign Mav again.

I think this helps us if Stack goes elsewhere. As ESPN said, he has to wait 30 days and might well sign with Detroit, SA, or someone else in the meantime after he gets bought out.

If Stack goes back to the Mavs...then I think the Mavs are better off against us in the short-term (i.e. this year)

for some points, this trade help us when we face the Mac,

over the past few year, we got hugh problem defend pick-roll, when yao have to defend quick Guard like, Park, Harris,Paul, Williams... so, now Harris is gone, Kidd is not as quick as player mentioned above.

maybe it is good new for us, not for rest of other west top team

Wow, did they sell the farm on this one, plus 3 million and 2 first round picks!? Terrible trade by the Mavs, they are paper thin right now compared to years past. What happens when Howard, Dirk, and/or Kidd get hurt? They're getting blown-out! Lol!

Who would've thought that my 2 fav non-rockets this year would be Shaq and Kidd? Thank you Suns and Mavs! And now the Spurs are excited about picking up Damon Stoudamire? They are literally aging in front of our eyes!

Wow, our biggest competition seems to now be Utah and the Lakers. I'm selling the Hornets, watch...

I think this trade doesn't make a whole lot of sense for the Mavs. If it goes through, they've basically tossed their hats along with the Suns in the ring of "we've got to win it this year or maybe next because after that, we're hosed."

If he traded, he can't have much say, hence Morey need to get him from NJ.

These trades are just wild. The Lakers clearly improved. I don't know about the Suns. If Stackhouse comes back, the Mavs are probably better. It is like everyone in the West has decided "this is the year." Some very high risk moves. I don't think the Rockets can stand pat. They don't need to make a move just to make a move, but a smart adjustment (more shooting) could make a huge difference.

All of you saying if you dont think Kidd will help Dallas "you dont watch basketball" are showing everyone that you dont watch basketball. By the numbers the Harris and Dirk combo was the highest per combo of any tandem in the league last year and Harris was the only speed they had. Kidd is a good player but he is not going to add to the Mavs! They needed a penetrator and a shooter and kidd is neither. He is the only guard in the league who could give Rafer a run in the brick shot contest. The Mavs just took one huge step back! If we could get Miller we would be facing the Lakers in the WC finals.

bad trade for dallas. the reason dallas OWNED us is their perimeter quickness/speed. our guards CANNOT stay with devin harris (and he got yao a lot of cheap fouls earlier in the year). also, stack is their off the bench guy.

jkidd CANNOT shoot at all. however, their defense will improve even more so i guess it's a defense for offense kind of thing.

i don't feel it takes them to that other level.

The problem is in all likelyhood they're getting Stackhouse back! I don't think they can complain too much about losing Harris as they upgrade the PG with Kidd. If they don't get Stackhouse back then I think this was a bad move for them, but it seems like its a done deal that Stack will be bought out then resign with Dallas - and that's a bunch of underhanded crap! The only thing they lose in this is their low post play - but lets be honest, was Diop really that much of a threat to begin with?

If they lose Stackhouse, then yes I agree this helps a Rockets/Mavs matchup, but if they get him back...they're just much more difficult now. That being said...they have certainly mortgaged their future for the present - and I think they still don't have the pieces to win it all...unless Nowitski learns to stop choking anyway..

Yes, It helps Rockets for a better matchup. But also Dallas becomes a better team.
