We've never had cap space to sign a max player. Last season was the exception and it seemed that both Marc Gasol and Nene would have signed if we actually would have made the max offer to them.

Did you say good weather?!!!!! Have you ever lived in Houston? In the summer it is like a sauna, only hotter. Not to mention the occasional hurricane. In the winter it can be a miserable rainy mess. And I have seen water over the hoods of cars on the loop. Weather is not the selling point for Houston. Yes, there are occasional beautiful days in Fall and Spring, but seriously, the weather!?;)

Doesn't every football team sell out every game...

you kids need to stop setting the standard for the Rockets to be Tmac (no c aps) and Yao.

Last time I checked, the standard has a statue in front of the building and stars wanted to play with he who the statue was made for.

I believe you are correct, Sir! By the way, one of my best friends is named Kwame, but he is from Ghana. He is a professor at the university where I teach.

You know, that is a great point. He IS the standard. Surely there are players who would like to be the next Hakeem; I really thought Howard might be one of them.

I don't think Jacksonville does lol.

But yes our team doesn't have a good rep mainly due to the fact that we do not succeed when it comes playoff time. But im actually very optimistic that we will get improved talent this offseason.

newbs think it's Yao/Tmac, no it's freaking not. ABSOLUTELY NOT.
we've got 45 years of traditions, 4 nba finals appearances and the title of Clutch City.

so when they go to the Rockets, it's not a franchise with no tradition like the Bobcats, it's rich in tradition.

So if people aren't going here, it's not the city, and it's certainly not the great history of this organization.

:)Eh...U sure?I am Chinese AND I'm always a big fan of Rockets.
Different from u guys, fans here don't live in Houston,LA,NY,Miami and palapalapala...Fans in your country support teams in their city, most fans, right?
We don't have our own city in USA.HOWEVER,there are still a large number in China supporting Houston Rockets and will stick to it(me included:grin:).
You r right that not everyone here love one team and love it for a life time.Actually, before Yao was drafted by Rox,LAL is the most famous in China,so there had been a crowd of LAL fans that time.Others are mostly merely NBA fans you know, love several teams or several players by taste.Between 2002 and 2011,no doubt,Rockets fans ruled the whole country,Yao,SF3,T-mac,Battier,skip,CLUTCH00...even bench warmers in this team seems quite famous. We went through thick and thin with the team years.
As time went by,maybe some of them felt disappointed, just like U posted, they only cared about win, they leave.LAL,Pistons,Spurs,Mavs, etc, are their new love.
When T-mac was traded and Yao finally retired, number of Rockets fans kept decreasing,I doubt they are merely Yao fans or T-mac fans,or whatever.Heats,Thunders,Celtics,Knicks, there are 30 teams in the league, easy to find a new one to support.
It's kind of sad,but also a good thing, coz THE REAL ROCKETS stays.;)
I come clutchfans several times each week, many Rockets fans do it as well,Haha.I am sure supporters of our team is really considerable,we have our BBS too.
If some of U understand Chinese or have the interests, welcome:

PS. Yao is in college,he has many other identities, has other business, and not any more a basketball player. Thus ,its hard to see his poster. But he is and will forever be our pride.

A little long,wow...:eek:Hope you understand my English.

I know that daywalker, but his legacy is the standard of what this organization must abide by.

it's not about losing and underachieving in the playoffs. it's about clutch city.

no team has come close. I mean no what if dumb tof logic, not even close. it's disappointing.

look at the lakers, they had a tradition of winning from West, Magic, and now Shaq/Kobe . Look at the Celtics, Russell, Bird, now the big three.

The Rockets have not come close. AT ALL. NOT ANYWHERE CLOSE to Clutch City.

You can set your standards low if you want. I wont.

heres where Houston ranks on the MSA chart, and why we might be considered a tweener market, were big, not big enough like some others, were not small either..
