Steve would be great safety if tmac got injured again... We need a passionate leader and steve can bring that I think...
Geeze, that's so classic. A Francis/VSpan combo would make everybody crazy, they will average 10 TOs/game among themselves. That's funny.
If he comes here it would be purely for the love of being a Rocket. He would come here for cheap. Name 5 guys we could realistically pick up who are better and cheaper. Hell, name one.
It's more, he loves us, he's damn good at what he does, and he would be a perfect fit in this team. We would kill for a guy like him. Why not use the MLE to get him? The worst thing that could happen is that he busts, but he isn't a critical part of this team, so why worry? All win, no lose.
Well I bet you they would average 1. more FTs than our current guards 2. More rebounds 3. more Steals 4. MORE WINS! Rocket RIver
1. more FTs than our current guards 2. More rebounds 3. BETTER DEFENCE AGAINST PENETRATION, PNR. 4. MORE WINS! (I am not sure about the more steal part thought...)
I think alot of people have forgotten just how good SF3 is. Sure, he has his issues with TOs, but that's just a fact of his style of play. We essentially traded SF3 for T-Mac. We threw in Cat and Cato, but we got Howard in return. Sure, Weisbrod looks like an idiot now, but there was a reason that the trade was even credible. SF3 was an all-star guard with alot of heart whose stats over his first five years in the league (15 pts, 5 reb, 5 ast) are only matched by a few of the all time greats, Oscar Robertson, Magic Johnson, and Grant Hill. If we were told three years ago that we could have Francis and TMac as our backcourt, any Rockets fan with half a brain would've been dancing in the streets. Sign me up for the Bring Back Francis Club!
could NYK buy him out, and reduce his contract down to a level we could trade for him with Sura, maybe Skip, so NY get's something? Skip was a playground legend there ... he'd be a great backup, and good marketing for them. Otherwise, his salary is too hard to trade for. But, it sure would be nice if we didn't have to use up our MLE.
steve francis' biggest accomplishment in his NBA career was being traded for t-mac. all his faults are exposed in a halfcourt offense. francis can only play in an uptempo style where he has the ball 90% of the time. he can't play with a dominant post offensive big man. he needs big men who are great rebounders and athletes so they can complement his up tempo style better. he's not a good spot up shooter and he can only make shots when he creates off the dribble. steve francis would be an utter failure on our team.
Is that why we went to the playoffs his last year here? Loss to the eventual Champions of the NBA . . a team with 5 Hall of Famers on it . .a team that was VASTLY superior to the Dallas team that blew out the nigh current squad by forty . . . . Is that the kind of Failure you talking about? Rocket River strange thing that is
Because he had a team Peaking and heading to the playoffs and decided to f*ck with Chemisty he brought in a dead has been womanman name Doug Christie who i did NOTHING for the team basically he took Mobley off that team . .for nothing then the team crumbled Rocket River
Correct me if I'm wrong, but I thought we needed someone to create off the dribble besides T-MAC. You make that sound like a bad thing.
so what if that team made it to the playoffs? they lost in the first round. francis could get away with his weaknesses back then because of his althleticism, but in a slow-down, halfcourt setting he's useless. francis would basically be a poor man's mike james, who could shoot and slash much better.
Then why he did not succeed in Orlando? Last I check, Rockets RUNS EVERY TIME they have a chance. While TMac will still be the floor general, there is no reason that JVG won't design some play for Francis. Just think about this, if Rafer has the attacking ability Stevie has, it will be very difficult for Jazz to contain our outside players.
