Ariza is the very very poor man's McGrady. Why is there no video of Ariza passing?

Ariza would be better off playing with Lowry, he's at his best when he just does his move or shoot immediately upon catching, once he waits or plays around with his dribble he is horrible. He needs a good PG to get him the ball in the right spots.

I'm actually fairly impressed with Ariza's passing skills. He has better vision than I thought he did coming in.

He'll make a bad pass here and there but I think the majority of his turnovers come off the dribble.

This is just not to bash the player, but he is one of the worst offensive sf in the league. For comparison even brooks who probably is the only guy who really create his shot is shooting less than ariza. He needs to be taking 10 shots and not 17.

Like everyone has said, Ariza is going to struggle as long as he is forced to be the number one option. How many other MLE signings are asked to come to a team and be the go to guy? Clearly the coaches have told him to play this way cuz we are almost 20 games into the season and nothing has been changed.

Complaining about Ariza at this point would be like moving Yao to PG and then complaining he turns the ball over to much.

Either way he's doing what's being asked of him. Why hate on him because the Rockets insist he keep shooting?

Ariza's is a better all around player than Alston and brings more to the table with his atleticism, his passing lane defense, hes overall defense, and he has been slowly improving as a offensive player.

Not as much horrible as Skip to my lou does, unless Ariza doesn't shot any tear drop.

People forget that Reefer was shooting the most wide open threes imaginable while Trevor has been playing without Yao and Tmac. Plus, Ariza can actually dunk the ball instead of settling for the god awful teardrop

Tmac gets people open looks as much or even better than Yao. For all his height Yao has poor court vision

Besides Trevor falling in love with his 3 point shot a bit to much, not sure what he is doing so wrong? I mean the guy does take a lot of shots but kinda has to with the way the team is constructed so because of that he wont be very efficient but his overall "D" is good and is starting to slash to the bucket more often. He doesn't seem to be a black hole as most of his shots come from within the "O". Overall he has been fine and I personally can't wait to see him with TMAC or whoever we get to draw attention from him as I think he should excel being a number 3 or even a number 2 scorer.

No it's not. Remember Rafer's first season with us in 05-06? T-Mac and Yao were out most of the year and everyone was saying that Rafer's percentages would improve once he didn't have to carry most of the load and our stars were healthy. Sound familiar?

Let's hope it's true this time.

This is a perfect year for Ariza to develop his game. And I see improvements on a daily basis, specially in his passing. He finished strong a few times last night. He needs to fake the 3 and drive a little more; but he'll have to up his 3 point % a little bit to make others bite on it. But I'm very impressed by his overall game. I didnt think he was capable of averaging 18 points even if it is only 38% shooting. As the year goes on, this should improve as well.
