Rebounding and shot-blocking is a skill. Jumping high helps for sure, but he's tall enough with long enough arms to always block shots and get rebounds.

He's getting better with his post offense though.

yao and howard are on same level as young centers that have not proven anything other than putting up nice stats

shaq otoh is an all time legend so those two guys are yet not worthy of being mentioned in same class. yao and howard are waaaaaaaaaaaaaaaaay beneath shaq at this point. it says something about how much better shaqs career has been than both when u see shaq being so old and yet able to cause problems to so many teams. i doubt we will be saying same thing about yao and howard when they are well into there 30s

Why in the F would Shaq go out of his way to compliment a younger player? I'm sure he knows Dwight played well but it's not like he should get on his knees and slurp him like he did Hakeem. We're talking about a legend; arguabally the greatest and most dominant center of all time. He's about to turn 37 in a few days and is putting up similar numbers to Yao.

Out of his way? Its not as if they're asking him to write a book about Dwight or Yao is it?

They ask in interviews what he thinks about these guys when they match up. He basically says they're garbage and then gets lit up by them. Yeah he's old, but unless I've been watching a different league this whole time, Yao has more than held his own against "the greatest and most dominant center of all time". Sorry forgot "arguably".

I remember a couple of years back when Yao had a really good game against the GOAT and when Shaq was asked about it, he said "he's just tall".

That junk is annoying. Drem never pulled no ****e like that. Even when the Admiral got destroyed by Hakeem, Robinson gave him his props. Were that Shaq, he would say something like he got lucky or something stupid. I know Dream is about the only player he respects, but you get the point.

My Thoughts exactly, there is no class with Shaq, he's arrogant as can be and he makes himself look foolish, particularly that game where Yao just pwned him in Miami.

hes arrogant yes but the diff between a guy like him and kobe being arrogant and guys like tmac or chris bosh is that he has BACKED UP HIS ARROGANCE throughout his career. did the guy get outplayed by someone in a game or two? sure who hasnt? but at the end of the day shaq daddy has the rings clout and larger than life celebrity status to smack down all he wants

arrogance is only stupid when u aint ****
