Without a Consensus Top 5 Player, Does it Matter If We Draft at 5 or 8

  1. Yes it Matters! There is a Specific Player I’m Targeting at 5 That I Think Can Be a Star

I can't understand why someone would prefer to pick 8th over 5th?

    Upside.

Sharpe is an unknown but teams will get him in for private workouts and that will tell them a lot.

He has the potential to go in the top 4 with a strong workout.

I want to know that I am guaranteed one of these players: Holmgren/ Ivey/ Smith/ Banchero /Sharpe …. and even IF the Rockets sit at 5 and decide they like someone that would be there at 10, they can likely trade down as teams are always looking to move up.

    I agree.

I want them to lose out to guarantee a top 5 pick. We fans deserve that after watching this feeble product all year.

What I don’t understand is why people keep saying stuff about losing out on the top 4 pick in all of these other threads when the two things are unrelated. I just wish people would take the time to be informed about what really is at stake instead of being in an uproar about something that will remain pretty much unaffected.

This doesn’t have any bearing on the top 4 pick. Their odds for that won’t change much if at all.

The problem is the worst record locks them in at top 5, 2nd worst top 6, 3rd row top 7, and 4th worst top 8.

Be mad about that. I am. Be mad that they’re playing vets for no reason instead of guys like Nix and Garuba. I am. Stop talking about the top 4 pick. We’d have to win 5 or 6 more games minimum for that to be the conversation. Indiana had 25 wins. We have 20.
