To their defense, their college coach was sitting behind the rockets bench talking and laughing with Hill and Chase. I don't think it had anything to do with the game. In fact, Jordan Hill looked good tonight and seemed very focus.
Ya but but but but when Yao comes back we can contend for the title. So sick of hearing all the bullsh!t excuses. I'm ready for a full blown nuke on this team. New ownership, new gm, new players, new coach. Hiroshima b!tches!
, knote, I completely agree with you. It is just painful to watch this group to play esp when AB is in the game. You never seen yao laughing on the bench when the team is losing. They need to bring the winnig culturre back!!!
Sombody gotta keep the morale up during these times...Might as well be them...Because Lord knows we Rockets fans aren't...cant have everybody mad
Exactly. I am tired of hearing the "Rockets are busy on the phones" around the trade deadline. I guess it's good if they are looking for a piece for the future, but after all the time Morey has wasted, they don't really have a chance to make the playoffs. I don't know if it's even logical to go after a big name at this point.
You are probably correct because Morey only shops in the clearance isle and in thrift stores but guess what there aint nothin on sale and everyone is onto his scheme.
This team needs more knife fighters and less milk and cookie guys. - JVG That said, and it is unquestionably true, imo, that was evident from the beginning of the season. Any disappointment you have regarding their professionalism should be tempered by the fact that these are young guys who NEED and do not HAVE a leading teammate that will not accept any behavior other than a winning behavior. It is yet another gaping hole on this presently constructed roster. Not only do we lack elite talent, we lack elite leadership, within which demands a high level of focus (synonymous with effort) and a higher level of expectations from oneself. As TheFreak posited...you have too high of expectations from these guys. They are...who they are (cue Denny Green). You alluded to it yourself: these guys aren't livid with losing (as a team) or stagnating (in their own personal development). Save for Aaron Brooks' tantrum (not that I'm condoning his behavior, only choosing to see it as a sign of frustration over his play) , I haven't seen anything to make me believe they are disgusted at times with themselves which, by all rights, there are times they should be.
I totally agree with this also, bring in Stephen Jackson, Gerald Wallace, hell i'd even take Ron Artest at this point even though he chucks up shots he works his ass off on the defensive end to get the ball back. We definitely need some toughness on this team and i'm sorry but Kevin Martin, Chase, Hill, Brooks, Lowry just to name a few. These guys aren't tough, and they sure as hell won't scare anybody.
Lowry is a poor example. He is undoubtedly tough, but lacks the leadership abilities (and overall game) to inseminate this team with a toughness, baby. For all the criticism of Artest, his wackiness, and ill-advised shots, his moxy infected the team. That team played with a chip on its shoulder that far outweighed all of Ron's antics. For that Ron never received his proper credit.
Just packing it in for the season guys. I already did. Log on to ClutchFans for an update on the trades every now and then.
I agree we need more toughness on this team. I wish we had a guy who had the "no layups" mentality. It makes me sick to see guys like Barrea waltz into the lane for layup after layup and no one puts him on his back. We have too many soft guys who would rather flop instead of playing hard-nosed defense.
This is what the team reminds me of. <a href="http://s371.photobucket.com/albums/oo155/llskorchll/?action=view&current=rap.gif" target="_blank"><img src="http://i371.photobucket.com/albums/oo155/llskorchll/rap.gif" border="0" alt="roller skate rapper"></a> Our team right now is all bark and no bite, just like Brooks trying to get in Love's face. I mean seriously what are you gonna do Aaron?
Think about it like this... If you're at your job and your boss tells you to do the best job you can and be professonal, then you do that. The Rockets are playing their inner state, inner conference rivals and we have our players on the bench laughing and having a good time... Therefore, Houston shouldn't be surprised why our record is 25-30.
It disgusts me that Shane is such a nice guy on the court. Smiling with like 5 seconds left on that foul. Quit smiling and act pissed off for once. Elbow someone Shane, quit being a politician and show some fight.
In fairness to Bud and Hill, their college coach, Lute Olson, was seated behind the Rockets bench. There was a time that he was shown on tv saying some stuff to Hill which made both of them, including coach Shawn Respert laugh. In this particular case I would give both of them a pass.
Does it disgust me? Hell no, they know this team sucks just like the rest of Houston knows it...why should they put on some pathetic act just for our sake? If they actually had a chance at being strong playoff contenders and borderline championship contenders then they'd probably have more to play for...as of now this team sucks. They could be on the sideline drinking some beers for all I care...
