The journalists always make something out of nothing. I believe Yao will call Artest and clarify the whole "Yao thing" (actually nothing) later. Not a big deal.

worst case scenario is the same team as last year, which is bascially where we were going to be stuck had we not made the trade.

If Artest melts down suspend him and trade/use his salary hole. No biggie.

The only loss are two late firsts - Greene was rawer than christmas and seemed like a potential pouter, because he was going to be pretty much plantd to the bench this year and everybody seemd to realize this except for him. Next years first is probably not going to be much higher selection than Memphis' 2nd rounder which we already have. not much ventured.

This is the absolute truth. I have never seen a paper more willing to throw it's own city's teams under the bus like the Chronicle. Outside of Campbell, there isn't a sports writer worth a damn on staff at that rag.

So who's going to call Artest tonight and tell him the media is trying to make a story out of nothing?

For real, these reporters are looking for trouble. They are also in a perfect position to try and get into Artest's head and sabotage the deal

It seems to me the reporter is trying to make the Yao comments a bigger issue than it really is. Everything will be just fine. Artest will love playing with Yao.

Yao has a sarcastic sense of humor. I think the quote about Artest in the stands was in humorous taste.

Blinebury is VERY annoying. He treats his blog readers like crap and is very pessimistic about everything. It's almost as if he actually LOOKS for the negatives. When things are just way too positive, he'll post about it. But as soon as a negative shows, he's all over it and posts a blog topic about it.

Richard Justice is getting to Blinebury's level of annoyance. Actually, I think he's already there. A shame what going hollywood does to you...

I agree with that. It's hard to take what he says too seriously. But then, I'm still worried that he might get distracted by not having a long term commitment from the Rockets.

I hope Yao will call Artest and have a one-to-one chat. That will help to clear any "disrespect". I also hope players like Yao or others keep quiet or just say "Welcome" before the deal is declared official. Reporters need stories and Artest
is proned to antagonisations/provocations due to his past and his ego. It would be good for the Rockets management to talk to him also about their plans and
    others to avoid any "problems".

    This is called Culture Crash.

Yao was trying to keep cool and stay humble instead of being over-optimistic. (We all remember what Yao said the season before last "We might go very far this time" which turned out to be a bitter pill.) He wants everybody work hard and dont take things for granted.

Yao respects Artest as a BBall player (Cuz he hates him as an opponent), but he has concerns for Artest's history (it's not just like some propaganda you know) which is fair..

That being said, I think Yao should have expressed a bit more enthusiasm and positiveness. But its Olympic time, maybe Yao is uneasy about the stiff competition his mediocre team is facing. Who knows. Hope things gonna be worked out..

what ron doesn't understand is that clutch bbs represents a bunch of middle class white guys... and we do that better than any other team board on the web. we are just representing over analyzing, over reacting white people. and if he acts up... we will get all sugar land on his ass. all friendswood on his ass. all woodlands on his ass. it is a cultural thing. the suburbs don't put up with that ghettoness.

I don't see what is wrong with him wanting an extension. What player wouldn't want one? That doesn't mean he'll be a dick and ruin the season.
