7-9 is a crappy record. If they maintain 7-9 pace for the rest of the season, they will win 36 games. As predicted, they are back in lotto land.
They've also had one of the easiest schedules in the NBA, so it's hard to see them maintaining this pace. I think they'll win 25 games, but I hope I'm wrong because it's always good to see teams without stars do well.
This team has had a cupcake schedule. I think theyve played the Nets and Sixers twice each already. They are playing reasonably well but December is going to be brutal
i will be surprised if they maintained this pace. you're right, they had one of the easiest schedules and they can't win at home. at most, they will win 30 games. that's still a HUGE drop off from one year. you take the best player from any other "great" team and the drop off won't be anywhere be as big.
Over/under on "hard" LeBron fouls when they play the Heat? I was originally thinking 5, but each one will get a rousing standing O from the crowd, which might inspire more.
How are they proving it? Before they tanked hard for Lebron for a 17 win season, they had 29 and 30 wins. Their 7-9 record projected for a full season would be 36 wins. A great supporting cast should be able to get their win totals out of the 30s.
I forgot to include tonight's loss to the Celtics. The Cavs are 7-10. They are on pace to win 34 games. It is not good or surprising.
Adelman has already proven himself. Scott has rode Chris Paul's dick these last few seasons, let's see how he does with a truly crappy team after the season is over.
he took a 26 win nets team and got them to consecutive finals appearances. not saying scott > adelman but scott has proven himself as well.
only after he got jkidd in his prime. you give adelman a star in his prime and i'm sure he can do pretty well. look at what he did with a banged-up tmac. the problem is we don't have anyone resembling a star right now. we just have a bunch of role players putting up good offensive numbers b/c of the system that we run.
and they went to the finals TWICE, and would have won if not for a guy named michael jordan. the nets went to the finals in one of the worst conferences of all time (that period obviously)
they only played Michael 1 out of the 2 finals appearances they still made to the finals tho and lost to one of the greatest duos of all time (shaq/kobe)
the nets would have lost to the kings or any of the top 4 west teams that year. the east was REALLY bad then.
well to be fair..they lost more than just 1 player. they lost their entire center post as well in big z and shaq. that is a big loss. i wouldn't say they are a great supporting cast, but you have to admit, they are playing better than most people thought they would. Also the cavs last year were actually a pretty decent team. you can't really say that the cavs did not have the supporting cast for lbj to win. the organisation pretty much did all they could to piece together the best compliments for lbj.
