Winning enough games to be competitive and giving the fanbase a little bit of hope so they can continue spending money? Yes.

    Winning a Super Bowl? No.

Kids handed everything by their billionaire daddy don't know how or what it takes to win.

Yes. But it’s not his top priority in building the roster and organization.

This is unquestionably the correct answer. Of course he *cares* about winning; it's such a silly question. Every owner wants to win. Whether they know how or are willing to commit the resources is the actual question.

But if you offered McNair a free trip to play in the Super Bowl, I mean... he's not going to turn it down.

Absolutely not, how could you with the way he has been running this trash franchise? For starters, how could let BOB/Easterby ruin this franchise with their moves, including trading Nuk for "culture" reasons? I could keep going but this franchise is not worth it.

He cares about money. On top of that, he doesn't know what he is doing.

We could do a better job getting this team on the right track than the people that is currently running the show.

I clicked no but it isn’t really accurate. I think he cares about winning but he is a class A trust fund moron who believes that Jack’s way is the way to do that.

If Cal cared about winning he would have fired everybody after the KC fiasco.

    He only cares about optics.

It was the perfect time to take ownership of the team (figuratively) and start to mold it to his vision.

He does not have a vision.

Someone should let Cal know that the optics are HORRIBLE for the Texans.

Viola! Therein lies the conundrum! I'd bet Cal and Jack THINK the optics with the team are GREAT!!

"whats not to like we have a bunch of really nice guys who pray together - you know what they say! a family that prays together stays together! We may not win a bunch of games, but we'll try hard!"

I mean the optics would have been better to fire OB then.

The idea that he is focused on optics is laughable because he has regularly gone against what would look good.

The better explanation is the one that someone else posted.

Of COURSE he wants to win. He just doesn't know how. He's not a football person and he's not a business person. So he's taking stabs at it and getting sold on a course of action by people and he tries to stick with it because he's convinced he's/they're right.
