but anyways realistically I think if Adelman comes and tells Bonzi he will get his minutes why wouldnt bonzi stay, if he opts out now the most he can sign for is the MLE which I wouldnt be all that opposed to using... or he can stay 1 more year in Houston and then, correct me if Im wrong, he can sign for 175% of next year's MLE under the early bird exception, that is if he proves he's worth it.

Hope he will. Since he did nothing last season due to his bad relationahip with JVD, it might be difficult for him to find a good contract now.

I think with Adelman who knows how to motivate bonzi, it's a given bonzi is gonna be back.

Bonzi stays. Besides it was an unconfirmed source that supposedly said Bonzi was giving 25% effort b/c he is getting 25% of his worth. Bonzi did not officially say this.

    Bonzi and Adelman works........

Is Bonzi stayed it would be perfect! When he is healthly he is a great player. I like him so much. DO not lokk at the previous season cause he was injured and he had an argument with Jeff. Now we have a new season new coach and hopefully Bonzi would stay here. He is good even for the starting five but he would be a great reinforcement from the bench.

No, No, and No! After seeing his lackadaisical display this season, he doesn't deserve to even be looked at by the Rockets. I'm not sure if the Rockets players will even welcome him back either. I wouldn't.

We already have enough problems with how Yao's gonna fit in, our Guards and Forward positions, and many more. We don't need Bonzi's drama when he decides to have his menstrual cycle.

I don't see why he would want to come back at that salary.

If Bonzi stays, we wouldn 't have to sign a FA this summer and we could ave the money with sura 's expiring contract for the FA class 2008 ... a class that is huge, with much better players! :D

Maybe the new coach will be dumb enough to play him being lazy and fat. Then the team will need to play ""TEAM"" defense cause he cant guard anyone.

LOL that's an All-Star calibur team. Les doesn't have the money and there's the small issue of the "CAP"

Bonzi wants to get paid. Unless he gets paid, he won't stay.

I would give him the full MLE in a heartbeat. He was one of the best cutters to the basket on the team and even JVG had to admit that. With Adelman having Yao play alittle in the high post on certain plays, Bonzi could be deadly. The Spurs would cringe if we signed Bonzi with Rick Adelman as coach.

Coaching change may change Bonzi's mind

One of the lost features of this whole Adelman talk is that there is a very real possiblility that because of Bonzi's man crush on Adelman he might be persuaded to stay. Bonzi is still an unbelievable talent and may just be the break we need to bring a guy off the bench if we could swing getting Mo Williams in here. There is probably on a 10% chance Bonzi could bring the full MLE elsewhere so 2.5 mil along with his favorite coach may not look so bad.

I pulled this from the Philly Inquirer.

"""One unmentioned aspect of the likelihood of Rick Adelman going to Houston: the possible resurrection of Bonzi Wells in Houston. Wells' departure was all but assured with Jeff Van Gundy coaching; JVG quickly tired of Wells' act and deactivated him for the playoffs. But Wells had a superlative postseason last year in Sacramento under Adelman. After which Bonzi and Ron Artest told the organization they would stay if Adelman was back as coach."""
