There is no way on earth that Indiana would give him up, he is their best scorer and player, why the hell would they give him up....?
Well, according to I think the Philly Inquirer, Houston offered McGrady and Budinger for Iguodala and Dalembert at the trade deadline, but the Sixers didn't bite. The journalist who reported it seemed pretty reliable.
There was also a story that the 6ers offered Dalembert Iggy Williams for T-mac Lowry Dorsey and the rockets said no.
Because Morey will draft a stud, and Indiana will want to shed some salary next season. If Morey does not draft someone Indiana wants then what if we gave them: Martin Battier Hill Jeffries 1st rounder for Granger Foster Dunleavy Indiana would save $14 million, and get 3 legit starters. Yao / Anderson Scola / Hayes /Foster Granger / Dunleavy / Hopefully a good 1st or 2nd round pick. Budinger / Ariza / Taylor Brooks / Lowry
It doesnt mean he's a SG. He played SG because that's who played the spot best on their roster. You could say he's a sg/sf, and well he is, but he's like battier and ariza in that their natural and best position is the SF spot. This is part of philly's problem. they don't have a true SG, they have iggy and young, two small forwards. Now they moved Iggy to sf and start two point guards in the backcourt.
If we could somehow hang on to all of our starters and get an upgrade at the SF position - someone like Danny Granger, Andre Iguadola, Gerald Wallace, Jeff Green, Luol Deng, or even C. Maggette, T. Prince, or M. Miller - this team would be championship caliber. Tonight watch how Battier, and Ariza play Carmelo. They need to make him chase them around on on defense to wear him out.
after hanging out with scola and battier on my birthday this past saturday night (3/13), i don't want them to leave, 2 of the coolest guy's i have met, and got to kick it with them.
Man battier's useless right now. Can't shoot, a step slow defensively. That's why his expiring contract is his best asset right now. Granger is too far fetched, Iguodala is not.
blakh, I meant to say offense then, and now. I need to stop rephrasing my posts so much and just use the preview post option. That edit key is looking worth it. Anyways, Battier was overrated on offense and he is completely useless if he doesn't make any threes. Ariza is the future either as a backup or a starter. His minutes need to be limited, but not if Battier is the man that gets them.
Nope, his always a guard. The only reason people thinks him as a forward is due to that he played SF to accommodate Iverson.
So you're telling me i'm wrong when i specifically said they're starting two points guards in the backcourt and AI at the 3? Am i blind then? You're welcome to look it up yourself... Iggy is not a good enough ballhandler or shooter to be a traditional two guard. He's had to become one at times and learn to play the position because of his team has never had a true shooting guard. At most he's a swingman, but he's definitely not just and always a two guard.
Exactly, I agree. Battier will end up like Bruce Bowen sooner than later, its better to get rid of him now. I loved battier in the years when he was still a defensive stopper, but if we could get a iguodala caliber player, we go for it.
