Sorry for the bump. This thread brought back some amazing memories for me. I was looking at old 80's commercial's on youtube for 80's toys like "digger dan can" - & tried to find "ya ya Mr. Norman" and I found this thread thru google search. You young bucks won't understand. Great threat. A deserved bump.
My parents would tell me a few stories about Houston wrestling, Boesch, the Funk brothers and Terry Taylor. It made wrestling seem more genuine and not the circus show it is now.
hot stuff eddie gilbert the missing link w/ dark journey captain redneck dick murdoch hector and chavo guerrero the sheepherders the blues brothers humongus
its "Llama Mr. Norman" I remember my dad taking me to the Sam Houston Coliseum for Saturday Night Wrestling. Looking back, what a horrid dump of a place that was.
Nothing freaked me out more as a kid than watching a wrestler (i.e. Kamala) REQUIRE a handler to bring them out to be interviewed (or their manager to be interviewed). How freakin' scary is it that another human needed a trained handler (usually masked) to help contain the sheer rage and might that could be unknowingly unleashed at any given second. Exotic wrestler handlers FTW! http://www.oklafan.com/bios/2268/profile.html
I once saw Wahoo McDaniel and Johnny Valentine in an Indian Strap Match tied together with a long strap of leather. Also saw Johnny Valentine and Wild Bull Curry in a Brass Knucks match with taped fists. Blood did flow... Here's a great old site: http://www.wrestlingmuseum.com/homeie.html Enjoy
Brings back all kinds of memories. I quit watching wrestling after they tore down the collisium. If I wanted to start watching again, what channel would it be on? Or is it all pay per view now?
