Does anyone else notice how much better Tmac is than VC?

He tops my wildly overrated until everyone finds out and is now underrated list
Vince Carter (can put up 30 if motivated, easily)
Ben Wallace (can defend any big 1 on 1)
Shawn Marion (most versatile defender ever, yes ever)
    Joe Johnson (tmac light)
Jermaine Oneal (when healthy, he's a taller boozer)

and the inverse of that list
Steve Nash (look at the other 2-time mvps)
Kevin Martin (very poor man's rip hamilton)
Baron Davis (he's your best player?)
David Lee (He hustles, but seriously)

Vince took a toronto team to the eastern conference finals pretty much as the main guy. Tmac has yet to do that. Vince has a better shooting percentage and better three point percentage. Their other stats: rbs, ast, steals, etc. are close too. I am not saying Tmac isn't better than Vince, but saying Tmac is a lot better than VC is not accurate.

VC actually played better in his early years. I was working in Toronto back then and his shots were more reliable.

I think he got talent to be a real star instead of just a dunk contest flash in the pan guy. It's his motivation (actually, lack of) that gets him to where he is right now. Regardless of how his fans defending him how he cares about education blah blah blah, I still can't accept how this guy would choose to go for his college graduation ceremony on the same day of the game 7 in a playoff series (and he played with zero energy as a result). Then this guy later kept faking injuries and forced the Raptors GM to trade him low.

As an ex-Torontonian, I still have problem with how Tmac handling the contract issue when he was a Raptors, but at least he wanted to be "da Man" instead of being VC's Robbin, which I can understand. VC, on the other hand, just follows what his bossy mom tells him and waste his talent.

I won't really argue with that first list...except that Ben Wallace has been exposed in his tenure with Chicago and Jermaine Oneal used to be a baller but now he never plays due to injury and i dont know how he's going to fix that...

and by inverse if you mean 'underrated until they find out and is now overrated', that second list is kind of harsh. I know it's an inverse list but...

Baron Davis when motivated (and feeling it) is one of the better players in the game. He is ridiculously fast for his size, and he's very strong, crazy handles, and range to boot. He's been injured a lot and he doesn't play motivated often, but he's amazing when he is.

And Kevin Martin is young and still growing, with potential. I think there's no argument that he's going to be THE man in Sacramento for a while, especially with his 5 year contract. He will get better, and by his 3rd year in the contract, he'll be better than Rip Hamilton. Not a better shooter, but a better overall player. ...Kevin Martin just put up 48 recently!

    David Lee I agree with.

Steve Nash I kind of agree with, because compared with other two-time MVPs, he does begin to look pretty meek. I can't believe he was a candidate for a third time, back-to-back MVP. They have had no playoff success for that kind of recognition.

When Tmac gets the ball you wonder:

    Will he take the jumper
Will he score at the rim or get fouled
Will he draw the defense and drop off a pass to a team mate for a dunk
Will he kick out to an open team mate for a jumper

When Vince gets the ball you wonder:

    Will he take the jumper
Will he drive only to pull up and shoot an off balance, pull up jumper
Will he drive but turn his back to the defender/basket and shoot a fadeaway
Will he get a dunk on someone (not so much anymore)

My point is that with Tmac you really don't know what he will do. Yes, he shoots too many jumpers. So does Vince. The difference is when Vince gets the ball you know the guy is going to shoot it. The only question is how bad of a shot he will take. He doesn't go at the rim anymore so you can expect that the vast majority of the time he will take a long jumper, an off balance jumper or a fadeaway jumper. He is a scorer who has lost his will to punish the defense and who has lost a step athletically. To me, it seems the guy gets the ball and it is like a hot potato that he can only cool off by throwing it toward the rim.

I suppose when Vince played in Toronto and his first year in NJ he was on his cousin's level.

But I don't blame Vince Carter, he's a nice guy, freaking injuries slowed him down and he also plays in terrible team and with that has absolutely no motivation.

Again, don't underestimate Vince, he's great.
