I will say this, the reason Subway does so well is because it costs them like 50 cents to make a sandwich, at the most.

As for McDonalds, I dont eat there as a boycott of my cousin who owns three. He was complaining to me about working at a god awful subway. (this was before the jared comercials, back in 95) anyway this man is very very very large. . . .. jared large :D . I said well D, I didnt work at mcDonalds because I like to eat food thats actually good for me and wont make me huge. I then stare at his gut. We have not talked much since then. . . .oh well

I will say this one good thing about McDonalds. Coaches eat free! during the season I will take me team to McDonalds and take their free food, but I would never pay for it.

Yup. When I can tell it's about my time, I'm going to find me a Hardees and eat a Monster Burger.

Monster BurgerĀ®-949 Calories, 687 from fat, 67 grams of fat.

Even at my peak of eating bad and being fatter than fat, this burger hurt my heart to look at.

I only go to McDonald's when mydaughter and I go, which is probably about once or twice a month. But I will usually only eat a filet-o-fish.

She of course, likes the Chicken Mc-processed-Nugget happy meal and the playground.

True, but I'd rather die pain free without the side effects of heart disease, clogged arteries, and a huge gut.

My life goal is to be physically fit until I die, that way I won't be one of these old geezers huffing and puffing while they walk to their car... its just a pathetic site to me.

hell, i've seen it first hand in my own damn family. :(

True. But I'm pretty sure eating that will speed things up a little too rapidly for my tastes!

Does anyone remember the Outlaw burger or something like that from Jack in the Crack? It had cheese and onion rings and bbq sauce on it. That was the best burger ever. I dont really care to eat at J&TB anymore because I feel my health deteriorate whenever I eat there. Some good fast food is Fazoli's, Beck's Prime, and I like Taco Cabana. There is a new place called Panera's that is really good. It doesnt have a drive through but it is still quick and good. As for McD's, it sucks but we eat there for the kids and because it is the closest to our kids. I only eat the McNuggets, Filet of Fish, and Quarter Pounders. I used to eat the two cheeseburger meal but it seems like they have a lot more salt than they used to. Anyone else notice this?

When I was in college, a McDonalds was built right on the corner. I gained 30 lbs going through college.
Now, as an adult with a child, I go to McDonalds for the happy meal, but I don't go in. My son wants to play in the tunnels where satan's spawn await unsuspecting youngsters and the management does nothing to make sure the teens don't get in the tunnels either, much less the sockless critters.

When I do go to McDonalds, I usually get a double 1/4 pounder with extra onions to add some flavor to an otherwise bland burger. The chicken parmessan burger was awesome...a 10 on the ole heartburn meter!
I prefer to change up my fast food menu often. Whopper w/bacon and cheese, Church's chicken, chinese TSO Beef, Tacos de Bistek, Popeyes chicken, Double Whataburger w/cheese and bacon, Mr Gatti's, Pizza Hut Cheese lover's pizza, Subway Southwest steak with extra sauce...and brisket or spare ribs from the local smokehouse!

    Again, MadMax speaks the truth.

You should be able to tell the way I devoured those chicken wings at Nick's the other night. :D

Yo MadMax...you've heard that a high fat diet increases your risk of colon cancer, right? :)

I'm surprised none of ya'll have mentioned the Jack in the Box college staple food: Jumbo Jack and 2 Tacos for $2.10 (including tax). That's a helluva bargain if you ask me.

McDonald's has continued to diminish in quality since the early 90's. Has anyone else noticed that the size of a Big Mac has shrunk considerably? The Whopper is bigger and much better than anything you can find at McDonald's.

Taco Bell is still my favorite fast food joint. My order is usually a Nachos Supreme, soft taco, and bean burrito. Good stuff.

Also, since I've been in Houston the last couple of days, I have to recommend the Vietnamese sandwich shop on Bellaire and Synott, in the My Hoa (heh, heh) shopping center. They have chicken, pork, BBQ, and combo sandwiches for $1.50 - $2.00, and their vermicelli bowls are only $4.50. This place is new, so it's really clean inside too. Try it out if you're ever in the area. You won't be disappointed.
