Does Anybody Here Know What the Rockets are Gonna Name the New Arena?

    I hope they dont do what Golden State did, call their arena "The New Arena"

    How about the 'Launching Pad' or, er...some such...

    Its all I could come up with but I bet we could come up with a could name for it and promote it.

    It's not intentionally called the New Arena ... they haven't found anyone willing to shell out for the naming rights (I don't know how much they're asking). A local columnist aptly dubbed it "Your-Name-Here Arena."

    On the plus side, at least we're no longer last in the league in attendance ... [​IMG]

    My guess is that the new arena will be named after who offers the most money...

    I hope that the new arena is NOT named the Gallery Furiture Center, or something like....I can already hear every other player in the league now...

    "What the hell is Gallery Furniture??"

    One thing that is for certian is that it won't be named the Reliant arena like those noarena.org freaks thought...Everyone's heating bills are already high enough after they got the naming rights for every facility in the Astrodome complex...

    I'd love for the Rockets to name the new arena after Hakeem....Think about it..."Welcome, Rockets fans, to the very first game at the DREAM CENTER!!"

    That's highly unlikely, though

    I think the NBA has a secret contract with every airline and bank, though...

    United Center
    Air Canada Center
    America West Arena
    American Airlines ARENA
    American Airlines CENTER
    Fleet Center
    First Union Center
    Conceco Fieldhouse

    Dare I say....the Southwest Airlines Arena??

    Ugh....

    Well i have a feeling it might by Dynergy Arena. I know they were outbid for the NFL stadium so I would think they would go after the rockets stadium. WE will see. my vote is dynergy arena or center or whatever. we should record these and see who is right

    I like "dream center" that is if he retires in a rockets jersey
    we could call it "clutchzone or clutchpad" or something that brings back memories of past with an adding of something new....
    we need something spicy just like our city itself... when it opens we need a whole bunch of guys playin out there.... low riders should fill the streets custom cars speakers blastin giant booze trucks everything to make it something to remember

    One thing's for sure the name is not going to be artsy or something sentimental--it will be an ugly corporate name, as sad as it is to say...they could do like Duke did and name the court itself something (Coach K Court) but hey, I guess the naming rights for those could be pawned off as well.

    I think because it was the city of Houston that finally got us the arena, it would be cool if the name had something to do with Houston (Bayou Arena, Space City Fieldhouse, Houston Center, etc.)

    I would love The Summit also, but i dont see it happening.

    Something that reminded people of the championship years might be nice. Clutch Arena,

    I see either Gallery or Southwest Airlines buying the naming rights.
