Steve Francis is my second favorite player on the Rockets after Nachbar, if they both go my heart will be broken.

How many layups did Steve miss this year while trying to draw a foul? How many times did he get called for a charge by taking it in all by himself instead of hitting the trailing player?

No, no broken heart here. I'm a fan of the Rockets first and the players a close second. If this deal, assuming it happens, makes us better as a team, then I'm all for it. We'll see how it plays out.

You think stuff like this isn't going to happen with T-Mac or ANY other player? Every player is going to make bad plays over the course of a season .. the difference is that your hatred for a player allows you to only see that aspect. Even if they were bad plays he was trying to make something happen on the court which is more than I can say for ALOT of players in this league. He wanted to win!

I'm for the trade because T-Mac is that good of a player, but I feel sorry for him because if he doesn't do everything perfect "fans" like you will be all over him.

Hell yeah, If Uncle Less will buy me a supermodel, I'm dumping my 'no satisfaction' girlfriend...in a heartbeat.

The reason someone should be your favorite player is because he gives you thrills and effort and exemplifies the image you want your team to project. Hakeem gave us thrills, Hakeem gave us effort, Hakeem projected 'never say die' heart....until his ego passed his skills on the way down and we shipped him out for the betterment of the Rockets team.

Steve just makes me mad....all the physical ability in the world and no idea how to play the game.

But..... the supermodel with all the physical attributes and no brains, would, somehow be acceptable....a paradox I'll just have to live with.

Well just to clear one thing up before somebody mentions it: The 3 in my moniker is NOT for Stevie. It's always been my lucky number.

And on topic, some of the replies in here really disgust me... Of COURSE I'm going to miss Stevie, AND Cat if he's gone, too. They have been my two favorite Rockets for a while, and I'm yet to see their kind of passion, heart, and work ethic from Yao.

I'll miss Steve and support him whatever team he ends up on, but I'll support TMac more... (coincidentally, he was the only guy I was ever willing to trade Steve for. I've said that on this board several times during the season.)

McGrady has been my favorite non-Rocket (tied with Duncan), but I'm still unsure about this...

Heh, I know EXACTLY how you feel. But that's not the only reason I'm going to miss him.

    Ditto.

    Im gonna miss Steve too.

Both of them played hard and with heart, if not always mind.

Some of the negativeness in this thread makes me shake my head. I could just never dislike a player because he wasn't good enough.

    Does this break my heart?

    Um, no.

And this is coming from someone who has never liked McGrady, but *sigh*, will have to figure out some way to like him now.

However, it sucks to give up Mobley but I understand why. Maybe I will no longer be screaming at my TV when I watch the Rockets play.

    I'LL MISS YOU STEVE

    this does break my heart.

we have a cutthroat new york staff now
I just don't know how morally this trade happens

STEVE IF YOUR READING THIS, THE ROCKETS HAVE LOST HEART

    NOT YOU

he'll be happier in the east anyways, I'm sure he'll burn us
    when we play

damnit, T-mac is good, but I hate that it happens at the
expense of my boys, stevie and cat

I'll even shed a tear for childrens author and big old teddy bear
    Kelvin Cato

we have to win a championship at this expense

You call four lottery years and a quick exit from the playoffs (after almost missing them) successful? I think not. Mentioning Francis and Kobe in the same sentence, please. Bottomline, I have never been a fan of Francis, I don't like his game, he is the anti-PG, has few of the skills necessary for the position. Bench players play "hard and with passion." But, I did like your comment on "hyperbole pills," funny. Beauty is in the eye of the beholder. You see beauty, I don't. Bring on TMac and make all the Kobe comparisons you want.
