Law firm associate salaries are done on a set scale that is public knowledge - there is no negotiation involved. This thread's existence puzzles me. HORN TOOTING NOTED
What about computer sales guys that make $3K a MONTH? Thats LIVIN!! (Yes ladies and gentlemen, my first job outta college was slinging Macs)
Well, speaking as a UVA grad, I think students at Jefferson's university would be worth at least 25% more than people from other schools. Wahoo-wah!
why, because a friend told me that our friend was probably making $3k a week as a 2nd year law student and i was curious as to whether that was accurate or not? ok.
Yep, it's accurate. And he's also probably getting taken out for lunch, dinner, and drinks every day and night to some of the swankest joints in Houston. It's obscene. BUT, those firms make all that money back when they force you to bill hours until you drop when you come back as a real associate.
3k/week is market rate for summer associate positions in big law. http://www.nalpdirectory.com/dledir_search_advanced.asp http://www.nalpdirectory.com/dledir_search_results.asp http://www.nalpdirectory.com/dledir_search_results.asp Signed, BigLaw Hopeful
