RM95,

If you know what one is, then it is not hard to figure out what it smells like....

Fernandez will be skipped. Probables are WaMi, Redding, and Big Rig I think.

I handle negativity when it's warrented, such as after a bad game. But to post "Our dismal homestand continues, we lose 2 out of 3." and "This is the only chance the Astros have to get a lead before they start going out and losing to the better teams in the national league." before the series even starts is just bitter and antagonistic. If they are so frustrating and grating, why watch?

Especially given that he's absolutely positive that even if we do win the division, we'll get demolished in the playoffs. If there's no possible good outcome, yeah, why bother?

Is it possible to put someone on your ignore list, but just for one forum?

    RM95,

    Sorry not possible....

    :)

And Major, I never said that they would get destroyed in the playoffs.

If they somehow manage to squeek in, I think they have as good a chance as the next team.

I just don't feel the way they are playing that they have a good chance......however, I have been wrong many times before.

    :)

Sorry -- I just remembered this snippet:

First place in a year where the Central division SUCKS means nothing.

I thought you had posted this second part, but it was actually Jared Novak that expanded it into:

This statement can't be said enough. What is the use of winning the division, just to get rolled in the playoffs by the Braves, or whoever else meets the Astros in the playoffs.

    My bad!

Personally, I think DaDa does it all just to get attention, so I'm not even going to bother to argue anymore.

No it isn't. But the flip side of that is that if the comments, be they negative or positive, don't seem to be based on any kind of fact then it's our right to call BS.

I don't think any of us here are saying the Astros are world-beaters. But the fact is that the Astros are tied for first place as of today, so to come on here and say the their season is over and they have no shot is not being realistic.

Game tied 3-3. Kent with a 2 run jack and Bradley knocks in a run.

Ya know, I just wouldn't feel right about the season unless McGriff hit a homer against us at least once.

McGriff = one of the all-time Astros' killer

Bags with a cheapie into the Crawford Boxes. 4-3 Stros.

Perez had this look on his face like "that was a pop up". ;)

DaDakota, you remind me of the Randy Quaid in Major League 2. That's not a bad thing - he's a die-hard Indian fan and when they start losing (he knows that they're better and that they're underachieving), he totally turns on them. They end up making the playoffs though and he jumps back on the bandwagon. I think they'll make the playoffs and the same will prove true with you. Best lines from that movie:

"They'll blow it in the ninth, they will." and after they do good "They'll blow it in the playoffs."

"Women, can't live with em and they can't pee standing up."

"Hey Mild Thing, Mr. Choke Thing, ..... you make everything EMBARASSING...you got no heart and forget genetalia!"

    "They are our center fielder."

In those baseball training videos endorsed by Fred McGriff, do they teach you how to stick your rear end as far out as possible when you're batting? Maybe in his next video, he can follow up by teaching us how to be as boring as possible.
