They only point of your argument I can't disprove is that he wasn't born in the time of archaic recording techniques. Well I'm sorry he couldn't will himself to be born 20 years earlier.

Bump.... Finally saw this over the weekend. LOVED it. I loved Edge and White's faces when Page started playing Whole Lotta Love. Edge was smiling like a little schoolgirl. The DVD had some pretty cool extras. Watching Page ask White how to play Seven Nation Army was pretty cool. Then all 3 of them grabbed their slides and jammed to it. That Page was still open to new ideas really says a lot about him as a musician. They did the same thing to Kashmir. Just reading this thread...some of you guys arguing about who is "better" really missed the whole point of the movie.
Couldn't agree more. The scene where Page walks into that house they recorded IV in was unreal. I wonder if they had any idea they were creating rock history.
a fantastic documentary. Highly recommended for anyone who likes any of the three, or guitar playing in general. Edge was the odd man out, imo, as the others are so rooted in blues, but technically you can assign White to a punk tangent, and then it would be three schools. Definitely three diverse and talented players, and just a great time watching them talk and play. As for that EVH movie... aside from it being an autostart... and regardless of my opinion of him as a player (obvious greatness), that has to be one of the worst displays of I've ever seen. Borderline unwatchable/unlistenable. Besides that, why is it in here? fail. Who's playing with him, jan hamer and Tony levin? They get about as much respect in the mix as you'd expect him to give. I'm surprised they agreed to it.
