    When I first heard the Stern bit with Wolfie interviewing these guys I was listening in stunned silence. Took me a while to shake out of it.

    Part of me wants to watch the documentary to see if it can explain how in God's name this became popular, because it's always befuddled me. MLP has been around forever but it becomes a big thing on the net in the past year? Makes no sense.

    The other is scared that my eyes will be burned out from watching this.

    While MLP has been around for a long time, the newest incarnation, MLP: Friendship is Magic, which premiered on HUB TV in 2010 is the sensation that has caused the "brony" phenomenon.

    The show was created by the same woman who was behind the very popular Powderpuff Girls, which was also known to have a cult following among nerdy, obsessive white males who are probably secretly pedophiles.

    The show features themes of friendship and unity as well as some snappy writing along with lovable, excitable characters oozing with personality.

    Here is some insight into the mind of a brony.

    I've watched plenty because I have 3 daughters. The old MLP sucks and makes me want to punch the tv. The new version is pretty clever, so I don't get so annoyed to see it on. Better than that little ****er Caillou, or Dragon Tales which seems to exploit the mentally handicapped for cheap laughs.

    I agree, From what Ive seen it's pretty good. I wasn't surprised when I found out it was made by some of the people that worked on Fosters Home for Imaginary Friends and Power Puff Girls. This Brony fandom is crazy though. The people in that clip are pretty candid about their weird fetish.
