Now in no way getting a prestigious position involves politics and who you know buddy system at all now does it? Not saying that's how Keith Jones got it but sometimes it's not what you know but who you know...and for some it's not who you know but who you (rhymes with know)... I'm not saying Keith and the team medical/training staff are to blame for our annual injury streak, but makes you curious in how they treat each players injury as opposed to other teams (like the Suns who have injury prone players in Shaq, Nash, and Hill but seem to get their players on the floor more often then not).
BTW..keith jones are u kidding me?...he's the best in the biz in what he does..theres no questioning of the docs and their personnel on my part dude...AHEM..team USA????ring a bell???
You just made my head spin... but I get what you are saying. If Keith is to blame, I just think it way too much. Tracy can play, he just doesn't want to play limping. That's understandable, because it's Tracy. Brent Barry's injuries are due to his age. Joey Dorsey was just a coincident. I mean, if Dorsey only misses 2 weeks, isn't that a fast recovery? Tim Duncan had that same injury and he was in and out for the season. I guess you can blame Keith for Yao. Since he had the stress fracture since the beginning of last season. But, what do they want him to do? Make Yao and Tracy take a MRI for every body part every week? I'm not an expert or anywhere close of knowing exactly what a MRI is, but I'm sure the players wouldn't want to take one every single week.
I would agree on all counts with this. That said, the news reports from the Chronicle on these injuries are even worse. They never seem to get accurate info, the stuff they print is usually so poorly worded as to not mean anything, then they overreact and start something that is completely absurd like this recent injury ticker. A typical case are the reports on McGrady doing rehab. I haven't kept up lately, but everyone keeps saying McGrady didn't do his rehab from the knee injury, and I've read the opposite in the Chronicle. I'm assuming that they have printed both accounts.
i hope y'all realize y'all are comparing our docs to PHOENIX'S. That's it. Not to the knicks', bulls', kings', heat's, spurs', etc., but to PHOENIX. Its been well documented that they are taking a different approach than the WHOLE league. Not just houston. So stop complaining like everyone else is far ahead and Houston is still stuck in the Middle Ages. Also, Shaq hasn't had a major injury since being in Phoenix. He also didn't have one when he arrived there. He was simply not playing 100% because he had given up on the Heat. When he went to Phoenix he decided to give max effort again since he was on a good team. Phoenix doctors had nothing to do with it. As for Amare, it's not like they cured him after being paralyzed. He injured his knee, rehabbed, injured it, rehabbed, and he's good now. No magic there. He even took longer to rehabd than the team expected, so if they're so good why did they not have him back according to their timetable?? Then when he came back, he still had stiffness and had to shut it down because HE came back to soon. Where was the magical medical staff then???
and Amare didn't have knee "problems", he had a knee injury. Its not like he had knee issues his whoel career like with Tmac's back and the suns staff solved it all one day. He suffered an injury and rehabbed to bring it back. Came back too early and went back to rehab, until it felt good. If anything helped him it was resting that summer instead of playing for Team USA. He was about to, but decided he worked too long to re-injure it again. Why didn't he just ask the suns staff to sprinkle some magic dust on it for the summer?? Hill was the only one they "solved", simply because their approach matched perfectly to Hill's problem. They focus on how the body funtions as a whole. In the past doctors had been looking at Hill's ankle only, but his problem was else where and just affecting his ankle. That's why the suns "cured" it. I'm not saying their staff is no good, but its not as magical or above and beyond like fans make it seem.
Phenomenal point. Shaq had obviously given up on the Heat... He is playing AMAZING basketball this season. He is a great threat inside for the Suns. He damn looks quicker. In Miami he looked OLD. In Phoenix he is like 30 years old. What I love about him. At this age he still can do thing he did before. Even if he has 3, 4 guys around him and he is under the rim, he doesn't pass out, he take those guys with himself and DUNKS it.
If Keith Jones is so good, we are not seeing any results. It has been for years this team has been struggling with injuries. I only can not say Keith Jones is the best since the results don't show that.
