I like him a lot as a "fit" for this team. I would want to price to be right though, but I have confidence in Morey there. Also, just a note but that shot chart for this year only includes 3 games, so a very small sample size.
yeah i realised it was only 3 games, thats why i focused on the 2012-2013 data. i think its worth the risk as along as we dont sacrifice our future with picks
Some other useful info about Ersan "5 years and $40 million, with only 4 years and $32 million guaranteed. $7.9 mil flat, then $400k of $8.4 mil in 2016-17." 26 years old Height w/o Shoes 6' 7.75" w/shoes 6' 9" Wingspan 7' 1.25" Standing Reach 9' 1.5" No Step Vert 22.0 Max Vert 30.0 Lane Agility 11.59 3/4 Court Sprint 3.56 nickname: Ice truck killer
this, i dont know if Morey will trade for a non all star player, with more than 2 years left in his contract
I hope the rockets find a way to make them include "the alphabet"...I remember Morey being very high on him before the draft
Why would the bucks want Asik? they have Sanders, Pachulia and Udoh at C, and need help on the wings. As DocRocket says, only a multi-team trade makes sense, which makes it complicated and not very likely...
All-Star roster from last year, I bolded ones that are possible to trade for: Rondo Wade LeBron Carmelo KG Bosh Tyson Chandler Deng Paul George Jrue Holiday Kyrie Brook Lopez Joakim Noah CP3 Kobe Durant Blake Griffin Dwight LMA Tim Duncan Harden David Lee Tony Parker Zach Randolph Russell Westbrook Obviously the All Star roster from last year isn't exactly the exact "All Star players" people think about, but let me know what your realistic expectations are for Morey to trade for an All-Star. I don't see any real possibility beside the hail mary trade for Rondo or LMA. Morey is looking for the best possible fit for this team's needs. If that's a stretch 4, he's not necessarily looking for an All-Star but instead someone who's strengths work well with this team and who's liabilities are not as easily exposed within this team.
No lie - our offense is not as potent as it was last year, and a stretch 4 would help us a lot more than another defense-minded center.
Have people given up on Ryan Anderson? He played with Dwight, is a good rebounding stretch 4 and career .384 3 pt shooter. Question is: is Ersan Ilyasova better than Ryan Anderson?
For what we'd use him for? yes. Anderson is a better 3p shooter, but his degree of difficulty on shots is much higher, he takes and makes a lot of contested shots, Ilyasova on the other hand tends to only take open 3's (which he hits at an incredibly high rate). Ilyasova is generally a better player at everything else (rebounding, defense, scoring inside)
Significantly better. Plus he has no personal problems like Ryan currently does. He is a good rebounder, a better defender, and shots at a better percentage. I personally think we would get a hall of ilyasova, zaza and pick for asik and Donatas.
