I'm no expert on telepathy preventing headgear, but maybe it didn't block Prof X's powers, but rather toned it down rendering Prof X like a regular human. By the time he took it off to use Cerebro, it was too late. As for X3, I hope they have Psylocke (sp?). She was one of my favorites.
Sorry pal, I'm not allowed to talk about this stuff, it doesn't exist. Forget you even heard of it and there won't be shock troops busting into your house like in the movie.
As I remember, I don't think Nightcrawler could ever actually touch the sword. The only two I remember using it in the Excalibur series are Kitty (maybe because she was buddies with Illyana or something?) and Nightcrawler's adopted mom (the witch who follows the Winding Way). I think here name was Margali or something. I think him learning to fence was a combination of Margali teaching him when he was at the circus and practicing when he lived in that church. The only character I don't really like in Excalibur is Captain Britain, because he's a drunk ******* a lot of the time (you know how those English noblemen are ). All the other characters rule though, especially Rachel Summers. She's got major attitude; she's like a female Wolverine (and she can get away with it, because she has the Phoenix power ).
I don't know, Magneto kicked Apocalypse's ass in X-Men Omega . But yeah, Juggernaut would be sweeeeet. So would Omega Red. Always liked that guy...
I think one of the things that makes this movie work is that even though it crossed the line of reality, they keep a toe on the line. Juggernaut would have to be computer animated like the Hulk, and he probably would remind people too much of the Hulk as well. Apocalypse, I mean, could you even introduce this guy in one movie, not to mention he'd be animated as well. I'm pretty sure that the focus of the movies will always be about the struggle for mutant rights. That's why Sentinels could work. Even though they would be big robots, the fact that they exist to hunt mutants down fits the fight for mutant rights theme. My idea for the next movie is Magneto, with a new Brotherhood, going buck wild and attacking cities and demanding their own homeland, like Genosha. So, the govt goes forward with the Sentinel program and decides to round up all up all mutants. That'd require one big ass budget though. Maybe they can make the sentinels smaller.
One of the things I noticed, not as a comics freak but just as any viewer, was that there weren't really any real mass fighting scenes. Everything was kind of one-on-one. Even when it was supposed to be a group fight, they really didn't show more than one person attacking at once. This suggests to me that they were trying really hard to stick to a budget, and things could have been a lot better with a little more time and money involved in the fight scenes. The X-Men are all about teamwork, so a lot of the scenes just didn't have the right feel to them. Hopefully the fight scenes will be better and more frequent in the next installment, assuming there will be one.
I'm surprised nobody has mentioned this, but we need some Danger Room training action. I read that they actually constructed a Danger Room set but ditched the scene due to budget constraints. This would be a great way to see everybody in action at once and perhaps throw in some villain cameos.
The Danger Room would be awesome. Hopefully, they keep some relationships the same, Wolverine and Nightcrawler are like best friends if I'm not mistaken. I can imagine a scene where Wolverine is like, c'mon Elf, Old one eye says that prof wants us for a Danger Room session.
What was the budget for X2 by the way? They shouldn't have a problem jacking up the budget for X3 after raking in 85 mill the first weekend. I just saw X2 today and really enjoyed it. Counting the days till X3.
Cool factoid - Wloverine tells Rogue and Bobby, "Maybe in a few years" when questioned about their lack of uni's. In the Oval Office at the end they are both leather clad and uniformed up. Pretty cool.
I didn't notice that but I'll be sure to check it out the second time around. I guess they are official X-Men now. Kinda on the same note. What's the deal with Colossus still in the Academy with the younger kids. He hasn't been able to get the required amount of hours to graduate? It's time for Colossus to buckle down and get off the 10-year graduation plan.
In the comics, Colossus is supposed to be a talented artist, he even does a nude portrait of Psylocke Anyways, I like how in the movie, they have him drawing a funny picture of Rogue sucking the life out of Iceman.
I thought she kind of didn't. She did kind of crash land it. Though I guess it would take some skill to do what she did still. Maybe she is just very observant when someone else flew it?
