Yeah, I felt really sorry for her. I mean she was mind controlled the whole time. She was basically forced to fight against her will, and she was aware of it but couldn't stop herself! Talk about a crappy way to die. I also felt sorry for the guy in the wheel chair. Is that guy even in the comics? That first scene with Nightcrawler was great. He's my favorite character now, even though he's kind of a dork.
Sean Bean would be good but he would be too old. The movie will likely follow the comic's relationship between Gambit and Rogue. If Gambit was Bean then he would come off like a dirty old man trying to get into Rogue's 21 year old pants.
No, Sean Bean would definately not look like Gambit, even in his younger days. The perfect guy for the role would be Brad Pitt, but he's too big a star. I think it's clear that in the movies, Rogue and Iceman are an item. Unless they want to do another triangle thingy, I think it would be ok to have Gambit be the same age he is in the comics. I don't know what that age is though, probably mid to late 20's.
Yes, but in the comics I believe that Iceman and Rogue where an item until she met Gambit. According to the X-Men comics Rogue and Gambit became an item for a while up until the point where they finally kissed. When Rogue kissed Gambit she was able to read his mind and what she saw disturbed her. After that she went back with Iceman. Don't know if the movie will follow this but it would be interesting. I'm finally going to see the movie tomorrow. Can't wait!
Saw it tonight thumbs up! Kinda sad at end but keeps you guessing. The charlies angels trailer makes that flick look damn good! I am not yet sold on the Hulk looks too animated but I will still go see it. I forsee many more X-men sequels NIGHTCRAWLER RULES!
If you like Nightcrawler, you should check our the Excalibur comics series. It focuses on him more than X-Men does, and it's a great read (maybe my favorite series, actually; I have the complete set, #1-125). You probably won't bother, but seriously, you should give it a try...
It seems you know a lot about Nightcrawler, tell me what is up with the sword. He did use it quite often in Excalibur, right? Where did he learn to fence? Edit: I wanted to add that I like Nightcrawler's new X-Men uniform, it looks like it could be easily used for the third movie. Doesn't it look like he has that white collar thing that priests wear?
The kid watching TV at night has the powers of Quicksilver (godspeed) as seen in the first movie when he was playing basketball. Stryker's son in the wheelchair is Mastermind from the Hellfire Club story line. He made "marvel girl" leave the x-men and cyclops to be a member of the club and to be his lover. I never expected siryn. That was cool. I still don't know who the boy with the forked tongue is. I'm a geek.
So, he's just really fast? $86 million this weekend, fourth biggest opening ever. My friend told me that Bryan Singer will work on another project before X3, though, so another sequel is probably five years away... Question: (spoiler ahead) If Magneto just sucked the iron out of that dude's blood, then why didn't he do that previously? Only anemics are allowed to enter the cell?
Mystique injected the guard with the Iron when she had him knocked out in the bathroom stall I think?
Yeah that was what I thought. Magneto was saying there was something different about the guard, that he had extra iron in his blood. Must have been when Mystique jammed that needle into his butt.
X2 kicked some serious ass. On top of the effects, I thought it was a really good movie. Plot, storyline, acting, directing....all excellent. 5 Stars.
Beast's real name is Hank McCoy, right? So was that supposed to be a "beast" cameo when they had the guy on TV while the security guard was in the bar? The guy was arguing for mutant rights on a "Crossfire" kind of show on TV. Am I missing something?
That's right. Beast "Hank McCoy" was on the TV in the bar. Gambit was also in the movie as far as his real name was on the screen when Mystique pulls up the Cerebro files. I loved seeing Siren and Colossus. Very sweet!
As a once AVID comic book reader in my youth, I was actually quite happy with X2. It seemed to start up well and great, then there was a period where it just went slow up until the end. Did anyone else notice that?? I loved the first Nightcrawler scene and the attack on the mansion was great. Wolverine went nuts, and it was great how they showed his truly violent side. Of course my biggest problem is when in the Garage they had an Aston Martin, why did they choose the RX-8 Mazda??!?!??! I wish they would have shown more of Cyclops fighting though, he was one of my favorite characters. I also really liked what they did with Pyro. The Phoenix Storyline could be something great in the future. Dark Phoenix would rock.
Siren was the little girl that started screaming. When she did that it started hurting everyone in the house. Kitty Pryde (Shadowcat) was the girl that was falling through the walls, and the one that was 'talking' to the professor in cerebro. The Colossus scene was awesome!! Thats the guy that turned to metal, he's one of my fav's too.
