******** SPOILERS*********** When Mystique was sent into the base to operate the spillway and let everyone in, Wolverine said something like "She's good." to which Magneto replied "You have no idea" Did anyone else get a "Yeah, that's right. I hit it." vibe when he said that? Also, and I was debating whether to ask this since I did see the movie, but what is this Phoenix stuff you all are talking about? I'm wracking my brain, but I can't remember anything about anything called Phoenix in the movie. At first I thought maybe you were talking about Pyro, but I don't think you are.
If you read any comics, that one's easy . Let's just say that she now has the power to destroy the universe . Yeah, he usually has the entire brotherhood of evil mutants running around with him... Are they not doing the whole Avalon space station thing, or do you guys think that'll come in later?
That wasn't Sabretooth. Didn't you notice that Dog's face still had scares all those years later? If he was Sabretooth, his healing factor would have taken care of that. I see how it could be Sabretooth, since they were half brothers which would explain the similar powers, but I doubt somebody would make a mistake like that. Ok, in the movie, Deathstrike was a mutant who had the same healing factor as Wolverine. I don't know if she had his hearing and smelling ability though. She was't really a bad mutant though, she was under Stryker's control, which makes me feel kinda sorry for her when she dies. In the comics though, she is a human who has her body cybernitically enhanced and gives herself 10 adamantium laced claws so that she could fight Wolverine toe to toe. She's pissed at him because her dad developed the process that gives Wolverine his adamantium and she thinks he was involved in stealing the work from him. I believe they were engaged as well.
Sweet movie, I can't wait for Phoenix and Gambit to come in for the next one. I went with some "artistic" friends that are usually intrested inmore indy type of movies, but even they admitting it was entertaining.
when I first looked at the title of this thread i thought it said sex, not see x2. Like do yourself a favor bub, go have sex.
That's a legit point, but I'm honestly going to say that I would have a really tough time believing that's not Sabretooth. I'm thinking they were taking artistic license there. Besides, they could use the excuse that mutant powers manifest themselves later in life. Sure, that's pretty late, but no one ever said it couldn't happen. Either way, I just feel like they're handing it to you on a silver platter that that's Sabretooth. Yeah, it kinda irked me that Deathstrike had both a healing factor and retractable claws in the movie when she had neither in the comics, but oh well. On a side note, what's Wolverine's girlfriend count at this point? There's the chick from Origin, then Silver Fox (assuming that wasn't all implanted memories), Heather Hudson, Yukio, Yuriko (Deathstrike), Mariko, Jean Grey, and now they hint that Wolverine and Rogue got the hots for each other. Plus, Kitty and Jubilee followed him around forever. I'm probably missing a few, too. Kinda ridiculous. I guess they finally killed off Mariko 'cause they were scared they might have to start makin' him go steady.

Really, Rogue and Wolverine? When did that happen, enlighten me. What happened to Gambit? His bio isn't on the Marvel's website anymore. Last I heard, he lost his powers or something.
The Rogue thing is purely innuendo from the movie. It has no base in the comics, as far as I know. I don't know what the hell happened to Gambit either. Come to think of it, will they ever put Jubilee in there? No way can it be hard to find an actor to play her.
Jubilee was in it. She looked pretty hot too. Don't know much about the actress except that her name is Kea Wong. I thought you had meant Rogue and Wolverine in the comics. Rogue in the movie has taken on Jubilee's role in the comic.
Anyone know where (outside of buying the comics) I can read up on this Jean Grey/Phoenix thing? I'm interested and kind of want to know more.
You can read these biographies of Phoenix and Jean Grey and put it together yourself. Some reading, but less than finding all of the comics. Phoenix Jean Grey
One of the things about X2 that surprised me was the amount of death in the film. I'm not complaining; it added to the action, but I don't remember the first one having that much killing in it. Seeing Wolverine go at the soldiers the way he did surprised me right at first. I'm glad they didn't hold back, though; to water it down would have hurt the film. Speaking of which...what was X2 rated, anyway?
It was rated PG13, which does seem a bit surprising now that I think about it. By the way Oski, that first link to the Phoenix page doesn't work. But the Jean Grey page is helpful. Thanks.
Not really that I can think of. There are a couple of jokes that you won't understand; but from what I remember, the storyline of the second stands pretty well on its own. Would anyone else agree with that assessment?
