On principle, I would sooner compare the Rockets to the Thunder than to the Jazz.

I don't know if anyone here likes Battlestar Galactica, but asking "Do you wish the Rockets were more like the Jazz" is like saying "Do you wish humans were more like the Cylons?"

How can this topic not be locked yet?

There is a reason there is hatred for the j*zz. Long before they knocked us out of the playoffs.

Anyone who thinks we should be more like them, should switch to their fanbase. After that, they can be taken out back and put down.

    good post.

pg is the centerpiece of sloan's offense. without a great pg, their offense will stall and fall apart. i mean pg is vital to every team, but it is more so in utah. (on a side track, i have to believe sloan's ability to pick a great pg and i know he picked dwill before cp3 after debating awhile.) on defense they play physical (and dirty sometimes) on every possession and bet on the refs won't call every single one of them (on the stupid theory that you can't call every foul). flop helps, too.

i continue to hate the jazz with a passion. it obviously goes back to the 90's, and now they literally have the ugliest team in the league. but to be completely honest, there have been times i hoped sloan could coach our team.

The jazz pass the ball and have no selfish players when it comes to possessions, something the Rockets could really learn

They have Jerry Sloan who in 20 plus years in Utah won 0 championships.

    They draft worse than us.

I hate when coach acts like he's mad or crazy and it gives bad atmosphere (example: Jerry Sloan, Larry Bird)

And their fans are disgusting and post hang in with one hand on their face giving fists to ex players while bringing dolls to frustrate Kobe Bryant.

That's how their energetic, their a""holes.

Instead of constant turnover of players and revolving door of coaches, a concept that emphasizes year-after-year continuity, polishing and perfecting on the preferred basketball philosophy. And one that maximizes the talents of all 5 players on the court. Focuses on team execution on offense and physical defense. And with the long term in-place system, from there everyone knows what they're working with and over time can see exactly the kind of pieces needed to make it run.

Would I embrace that? Sure, if you have a best-of, why change just for the sake of change? Just adjust and tweak what you already have. The Rockets should definitely read into the recipe of success of the 1960's Boston Celtics.

The only thing I actually DO like about the Jazz is how they keep their players. They don't trade that much. This helps the players become familiar with the system Jerry Sloan uses.

Basically, it's the opposite of how this board thinks of players. :p

I definitely agree here. I really like what Sloan and their Gm has done. Jazz teams are always disciplined and play with a lot of passion. The thing I really like about them is that like the Spurs they have a system, and that's something the players can rely on when things get tough.

There are a lot of reasons to hate the Jazz, they also seem to get douchebag powerforwards (Boozer might as well be the reincarnation of Karl Malone, they are both disgusting individuals), and their fans sux as well. However there some things they do really well as well, and guys who are saying they hate everything the Jazz stands for are just blind.

    No, I don't.
Talent wise, the Rockets should be a much better team than the Jazz. But of course we can learn something from them to play with heart and intensity and never quit.

In my opinion, the Jazz won't get anywhere this season. They are basically a bunch of tough guys with average talent as a team. Sometimes, if you try that hard, you will make splash, but talent wise, the Jazz won't win anything with their current roster, not even with Boozer back.
