Here is one of my watches: (I took this picture of my watch on my checkbook both of which, for many of you, are anachronisms). My other watch is a stainless steal Oris Diver Date.
Tourboullions are fancy and all but they have not actually been shown to increase the accuracy of the mechanism. I have several omegas that I wear.
If I wasn't cheap or had a sugar momma buy me a really nice watch, I'd wear it... Truth of the matter is, I don't wear what I have, and use my cell more often to tell time...when I'm going out to a bar or date, I try to remember to wear one as it looks nice...
I stopped wearing a watch several years ago. I end up looking at my Blackberry constantly when not at home because I get so many emails.
My wife got me an Omega Speedmaster for my birthday, which I love. Before that I wore a Seiko Kenetic. I also have a GShock for weekends and active stuff. I always heard that there are two things that many people will notice about you that make an impression (as far as clothes/accessories go). That is the watch and shoes you wear.
I always wear a watch. I wear a cheap ass wal mart special most times when I'maround the house and when i go to sleep. Its water proof and have an alarm on it. When the wife and i go some where nice, I pull out the rolex sometimes. Sometimes i forget and will have a nice suit on with the walmart special.
I always wear a watch, and it's always the same one. A very thin Skagen. I started wearing them 4 years ago when I worked in a plant and I realized they wouldn't get torn off if I reached inside a pump or something and forgot that it was on. I'm on my second one now, and will wear the same watch as long as they make the slimline. Here's a similar one: http://www.skagen.com/item/233LGSC.fx
I don't wear a watch when I shower, run or sleep. All other times yes. Silver Seiko or a Brown Grenen.
I get the whole wearing a watch thing to compliment your outfit and all, but can someone please explain to me why people still wear their watches after the battery has died?? It's ridiculous.
I know the big circle is for time, the one on the left is for the day, and the one on the right is for the date. What is the bottom one for?
^ 24 hour. For example, if it's 10:00pm the indicator will be on 22. It's probably been a dozen years since I last wore a wristwatch. I now have a pocket watch for my timepiece. I prefer it much more than a wristwatch.
