I watch the Rockets, and maybe the last few rounds of the playoffs. I really don't care about the early round matchups.
love basketball. love the NBA. I do watch a games of other teams during the year, but I watch almost all the good playoff series (translation: the West). Y'all missed a phenomenal Spurs-Mavs series. When I don't have a particular interest for any team, I like watching how they play. Y'all give Stern way too much credit. If the NBA was rigged, the Spurs would have never won in 1999 vs the KNICKS(... frozen envelope), 2007 v. the super hyped LeBron Jameses, and he would have never let the 2005 NBA finals (between 2 of the best defensive teams-Spurs and Pistons) happen. Give me a break.
I love watching NBA games. So far, I haven't missed many playoff games. I guess unlike many of you I never really pay attention to the referees nor do I care who the hell is being hyped. I rarely watch ESPN and I really don't listen to the broadcast team all that much. I really love the sport, although my only grief is that they've gotten softer with fouls. They call technicals and flagrants much more often now for soft fouls, but I never grew up watching the previous era, so I don't complain about it too much.
definitely agree with you. also forgot to mention- if the superstar roster of the 2004 Lakers lost to the Pistons, its nearly impossible to argue that the league is rigged. Officiating, on the other hand, is a complaint I can understand somewhat.
I watch most of the Rockets games and some other games, maybe 1 every 2 weeks during the regular season and 2 per week during the playoffs. The NBA season is too long, and there are too many games to watch all the time. Add to that that I'm generally bored with the Eastern Conference games, and it leaves few that I'm interested in. I have been watching the Lakers-Jazz series with my fingers crossed that a meteorite hits the arena.
In some nba dish thread, I said that the nba gets in the way of my Bones marathon. I still feel that way. Once upon a time, I used to be such a fan of the league.. The NFL draft, day 2, has more intrigue than most of these games.
Yeah, I do. I catch playoff games every once in a while on TNT and whatnot. Saw a bit of the Boston/Cleveland series, saw a bit of the Chicago/Cleveland series but other than that not much. It's more just I'm doing other things at the time than watching tv and coupled with the fact that sometimes I truly am too lazy to punch 2-4-5 on my directv remove, lol. It's just not much of a concern once the Rockets are out of it though.
I guess this thread helps to explain some of the mindboggling posts on GARM like "I'm willing to trade for Bosh if they toss in TJ Ford" or "I don't want Troy Murphy because he can't rebound". As for me, I would like to watch more games than just the Rockets but can't be always bothered due to time difference etc.. If I know the final score, it's hard to be fully interested to watch whole games instead of just highlights.
I enjoy watching the best basketball players on the planet play as much as I can. I have no idea where else i would see the talent, skill, and athleticism that the great players of the NBA display on a nightly basis.
I only watch the Rockets. The NBA disgusts me and until I met my brother over a weekend I didn't realize who the first round matchups were.
Well, I've only missed a handful of Rockets' game in over fifteen years. I also see a few Wizards game here and there. I used to watch quite a bit of NBA playoffs in the 90s. Would be absolutely glued to Pacers-Knicks series during the Reggie-Starks years. Nowadays, I'll just watch some of the playoffs if there's nothing else on, or I'll just have it on in the background while surfing the Internet.
