The chances of Deshaun Watson being on the Texans active roster ever again is slim to none. That doesn't mean it isn't possible...but it's slim. We can all talk a lot about things we aren't sure of. But in this climate..in today's world...you can't have the face of your franchise be a guy accused of what he's accused of by a shitload of women. That might not be fair...I don't know. But I do know professional sports are a business, and image is EVERYTHING in that business. As a fan of the Texans, i'd honestly like to move on. I would really like to move on. I'm encouraged by what I saw Saturday, not as if it's a contender...but because I can root for a team of guys playing with a chip on their shoulder. I mean my namesake here was that guy. I can live with that. Still need to change the name and branding though

When Watson gets traded, he's going to instantly become the face of the franchise for the team that trades for him. The NFL will have to deal with that. Watson will need a rehabilitation campaign.

Of course... but because he signed an extension, he has to be traded/cut/released to leave. Initially, people were speculating that this would introduce the wave of player empowerment in the NFL (as we see in the NBA), and we'd have yearly players demanding/forcing trades regardless of contract status. I said then that I highly doubt the NFL owners would allow that to happen... one way or the other. Not to say this investigation automatically was triggered by trade demands, but the NFL owners still have the most power over players vs. any other professional sport... and they're not going to relinquish much of that any time soon.
