Steve looks to have good sportsmanship he was high fiving on time outs, but he didn't stand that much like everybody else but i notice he was talking to the assistant coaches and pointing out things on the court. To me he is trying to help the best way he can and he knows that it is not his decision and he will show up when RA calls for him. Then the legend of the Franchise is re-born
Working Hard and looks like he is back in shape Photos of him working out in Toyota Centre prior to the LA Laker's game. He is READY
rafer is pissing me off with his brick 3's and tear drop missed. I rather see francis dribble with the shot clock winding down instead of gettng my hopes up everytime rafer shoots.
All I know is Rafer cost us the game last night. If Steve is not the answer, then please find someone beside Alston. I do not want a repeat of last year when Utah left Alston open to take shots. - Sushimaster
All this Rafer bashing has left some people blinded. I'm ready for Steve to get some minutes (as if it's my decision), but I want him to take MJs minutes. I never thought I'd say this but I think we got ripped off when we traded Howard.
Damn, I stopped hoping last season.. you must be very optimistic! I think everyone missing easy layups cost us the game. Oh that and Kobe with his brokeback style.
ROTFLMAO!!! All of this bleating for STEVIE! STEVIE! is just too funny. I simply can't wait until Adelman does play him and then all those PLAY STEVIE! chants will change to BENCH STEVIE! Unlike most folks here I can actually remember what it was like here with SF3 4 years ago...
unlike you, we remember what rafer alston and mike james were like the previous games. if you bench rafer or james, then it'll lit a fire on them. they'll focus even more... or they can just burn away. i seriously can't believe rick didn't take alston out during yao's freethrow.
This is getting 2006 Bonzi Wells ridiculous. Poor point guard play. Piss piss poor point guard play. Play. Francis. Now. Get him in there!!!
What's even funnier is Rafer's 17.5% from the 3 point line....how could anyone not want Steve in over Rafer in that situation? I'd rather have Yao shooting the three then Rafer...and 4 years ago he didn't look too bad... http://sports.espn.go.com/nba/teams...3&season=2&sort=pts&order=true&avg=pg&split=0
My my my! What short memories we have around here. Whatever happened to all of that euphoria when Morey traded for Scola and signed Mike James and SF3? Just 9 games into the season and it's nearly panic mode around here. At last check, Rick Adelman was a professional basketball coach. Now I may be wrong here but I think his number one priority is to win games so I feel safe in assuming that he will play those players who in his judgement give his team the best chance of winning. Now IF he is not playing a guy who has basically done very little over the past 4 years since being run out of Houston then he must have a very good reason for doing so. Also if Rafer is such a dogmeat player and if SF3 is the basketball god that folks make him out to be, then why can't he beat him out and take his place on the court? Could it be that Adelman's offense requires a point guard that does not play the game like SF3? After all, isn't he the head coach whose hiring was also greeted with euphoria from the same people mentioned above?
Until he gets his butt in shape and learns the freaking offense, I hope he doesn't see a single minute. Let him throw his temper tantrum; he's acting like Bonzi Wells did last year. Screw SF3 until he gets his act together.
Yeah, that was 4 years ago. He's a different player in a much different situation. Back then, he was still young on a losing team, didn't have as much talent around him so he had to carry the load. Fast forward to this season and all is the complete opposite. He's older and matured, great talent all around and for the first time in his career, he is on a GOOD team that has a chance to win a title. Not to mention he no longer has to carry the team on his back. Also, I find it funny when people always say, "Keep dreaming that Francis is the same player back then, he lost it." But then want to say that Steve is the same bonehead he was 4 years ago. It doesn't hurt to give him a chance, especially if this trends with our guards continue. If he doesn't work out, put him on the bench and play someone else.
