And there was much gnashing and grinding of teeth in the land of Clutch. After awhile the people rose up against Van Gundy and so it was written and so it was done. Oh bring us a Saviour they shouted! Morey heard from on high along with Les Alexander and they spaketh to the people. Lo we have delivered unto you Steve Francis. Hooray shouted the people of Clutch. We have also delivered unto you a new King named Rick Adleman to leadeth this team forward so you will no longer be despondant. Hooray shouted the people of Clutch. Soon the land was awash in celebration but the powers that be were not finished. We have delivered unto you a speedy point guard Aaron Brooks and the MVP of the Spanish Leagues Scola. Trust them and they will be your guides and warriors for you in the new realm. Oh send us a sign that all you say will be true. Oh yea people of little faith...I will send you a sign and the next day the floor had turned from Red to a Clear finish. It's a miracle shouted the people. WE BELIEVE!!!! But all was not well in the land of Clutch. Jealousy and entitlement had crept into the kingdom. Soon there were whispers from the land and the whispers grew louder. The warriors of Clutch began to speak amongest themselves. Then an evil wind blew in and alas, Stevie Francis was not among the warriors chosen. In his stead, the old guard Rafer Alston stood in his stead. We have chosen said Adelman! The evil wind blew stronger and Alston grew confident in his abilities and began to throw shot after shot against the rim and backboard crying out all the while, "IT WILL GO IN". Now this mischevious spirit had imparted a winning record to the warriors of Clutch all the while letting the old guard Rafer have his way. The other warriors of Clutch fought bravely and won despite Rafer. All the while Rafer played on shouting I AM THE ONE!! I am he who is to be your saviour!! And again there was much wailing and gnashing of teeth in the land. Give us Stevie shouted the people!! And again the cry was heard from on high. But Steve could do nothing for the one known as Adleman had decided that he would rule with an iron hand. Again the people shouted, Give us Stevie. The cries went up on high and were heard but this time, they could do nothing for the King had decreed Stevie to the bench. And this concludes the end of the first chapter in the saga of "The Kingdom of Clutch".
All I know is I rather would have had Francis in and taking that shot then Mr. 20% Rafer when Yao missed the free throw on purpose...
you heard it all from the crowd even though it was at the toyota.... aldeman needs to listen to the crowd ..... WE WANT STEVE ...... unleash him... i think there is a issue with aldeman and steve.... we need him now cause the our weak superstar got a boo boo and left the game.... we need our third superstar back on the court
During the post game, Bull was talking about Stevie Franchise, Rockets VP said Steve has been getting into great shape and could see some playing time in the next coming games.
I have to say that Rafer outplayed Steve in the preseason. I thought that the game that Steve played against the Grizz was a step in the right direction though. At this point he REALLY could not do any worse. In the past Steve has made some bad choices with the ball, but his supporting cast could not be compared to what the talents on the team now are. I would like to think that he has grown, and can make better choices when running the team. It is clear that Rafer is costing the Rox games. IMO a coach should not be stubborn just to prove a point. Quit beating a dead horse. I am sure Rafer will come around and play better, but if you test him and he does not play well take him out and play Steve. Hell, the other night they all played so bad except Tracy and Yao he should have tried anybody else.
If SF deserved to play he would have been out on the floor a long time ago. I think no matter how laid back a coach is known to be, they do not become NBA head coaches by letting guys pout and have their way with them. I think SF has made a bad situation worse and RA is not going to let him force his hand. SF is not the player he use to be. He can no longer command PT based on his name alone. Get over it and stop with these dumb threads and polls! I would rather watch AB play than SF. Last thing the Rox need is a player to start or get PT based on what he once was.
Steve francis would of made that shot! Or had a higher chance of making it! The guys been in these situations! <object width="425" height="355"><param name="movie" value="http://www.youtube.com/v/IDWZM1kojiY&rel=1"></param><param name="wmode" value="transparent"></param><embed src="http://www.youtube.com/v/IDWZM1kojiY&rel=1" type="application/x-shockwave-flash" wmode="transparent" width="425" height="355"></embed></object>
Hmmmm, seems like 90% of fans want to see steve, is there something that you see in Rafer that we don't???? It seems more like you're the dumb *ss. So if you don't like the threads then don't respond to them.
Awesome...this is the first smile I've cracked since the game ended. The people have spoken: We Want Steve!
Yes. Especially now. If TMAC is hurt for a while, no way we should have MJ and Rafer on the floor at the same time. And Head/Snyder before Stevie? ...pulease. Head maybe...if we need a three. Rafer should NEVER be on the floor when a shot is needed in the crunch. We basically have only 2 scorers on the floor. Yao/MJ, and occasionally like tonight...Bonzi. Shane, and MJ were the ONLY guys capable to hit the J out there (in general....they didn't get it done tonight). ....Rafer should stop shooting threes. Next time he is WIDE OPEN, he should penetrate to get another teammate wide open.
So has Moochie Norris, IIRC he hit like 4 game winners for us (all threes). I love stevie. But I had to comment...on your comment.
I couldn't see the game that well from where I was sititng in the bar but after rafer missed that shot it looked as if Yao gave him a look. Of course I'm just speculating but I bet you that Yao probably wants steve in the game too.
