Francis should definately have been playing in last night's games, especially considering, no one but T-Mac and Yao could make a shot.

When our offense is struggling, and our bench guys our rotational bench guys are having an off shooting night, why on earth would you not rotate Francis in? He can definately score.

I think Adleman is doing a great job, and I'm not interested in screaming about Francis not playing regularly; however, when our offense is struggling and you have a former all-star on the bench who can score, you play that guy and see if he can give you a spark.

I hope coach considers that next time we are in this situation!

Neither James or Alston can get rebounds either, I would love to see Steve go in there and grab a few.

3 things I like about Fat Steve, I'm mean Franchise Steve

    * Finishes at the rim like no other guard on the team, except for Tmac
    * Will give a hard foul to a PG driving to the lane and will not help them up
    * Rebounds his butt off

For those of you going to the game and who want Steve to play, please start the "we want Steve" chant in the first quarter tonight.

Rafer and MJ were killing us missing wide open shots the last few games.

    For the season

    Rafer

    25.8 mpg .300 fg% .212 3p% 4.3 apg

    Mike James

    24.0 mpg .341 fg% .361 3p% 2.5 apg

Exactly what the hell is Rafer doing to keep that job? He gets lit up on defense and doesn't knock down wide open shots.

At the cost of a lost? No thanks.

Hell yes I'd love to see Stevie play. But I think that's up to himself to get w/ the program. I don't blame Adelman at all. And I'd rather see him earn that spot by outplaying the other guys, not because they're sucking it up.

But we lost last night b/c of Alston & Jame's poor shooting. I don't think it would have hurt to put Steve in for a bit and see what he can do.

People say that if Steve busted his butt in practice, he would be getting some playing time from Aldeman. On the flip side of the coin, Alston and James have been shooting poorly in actual games.

IMO, Alston almost cost us the game against the Bobcats with that missed 3 near the end of the game that Yao luckily was able to recover and convert on. Had Yao not gotten that rebound, we would be 5-3.

People say Steve is out of shape. I didn't watch many preseason games, but I did catch a glimpse of Steve leap from the side and dunk a Yao missed shot. So my question is, when people say he's out of shape, are they specifically talking about his endurance ?

I'd want to see Steve play if he's capable of playing better than Alston and James are playing. However, I'm assuming that Adelman isn't playing him because right now he's not capable of playing better than Alston and James. And I can't even imagine somebody playing worse. We haven't seen worse point guard play since Moochie Norris was wearing a Rockets uniform.

The poll options are extremely biased btw. I'm a Francis fan and would love to see him contribute to this team. I would love to see him play if he's in condition to play. I certainly don't want to see him "suffer on the bench". However, I just can't believe that he isn't playing due to some conspiracy or because Adelman doesn't like the guy on a personal level though. I have to believe Adelman has legitimate reasons for not playing the guy. That being the case, I'm going to assume Adelman is doing what is best for the Rockets. The only other option is to assume Adelman is out to destroy the Rockets. Perhaps Mark Cuban paid him to take our coaching job and sabotage the Rockets? Get real. If Francis isn't fit to play, then I don't want him to play. I'd love to see Francis do what he needs to do to fit in with this team though. I'd love to see him return to his glory days and play a major role in the Rockets winning a championship. But again, I just don't buy this conspiracy crap. Francis isn't playing because he hasn't earned playing time and his ego is such that he believes it should just be handed to him. I hope he grows up, but I'm not counting on it.

The "visible" signs of him being out of shape is mostly his endurance, yes. He was sucking wind hard in the Memphis game when he got extended minutes.
But its more than that, its principles part of it that leave the most impression

Steve needed to come in showing he was willing to learn the coaching style, blend in with the team philosophy, he was focused on basketball and championship goals, etc...Also, an athletes ONLY expectation when it all boils down to it, is to keep themselves IN SHAPE! Coming in out of shape shows lack of dedication in most coaches eyes, as compared to people who are actively busting their butt in training. It might be a bit unfair that Steve is under the microscope when others aren't, but thats just how it is sometimes.

Aaron Brooks for example, a lot of his game is based on quickness and acceleration. Itd be absolutely straight FOOLISH if Aaron Brooks arrived into camp next year with 15 extra pounds. That alone minimizes his effectiveness, then there would questions if he's a loafer, dedicated, selfish, etc...Even Shaquille had to hear it when he'd start the season heavy.

Adelman should have focused on getting his best, most talented players to play well together from the start.
And none of this bs about fitting into his system from Sac.
Work on ways to run the offense that plays to their individual strengths.
Tired of seeing them try to fit a square peg into a round hole.
If Adelman is too unconcerned to figure that out, just let the players work it out for themselves in practice.
This is what should've happened in preseason.
Yes, even with an unconditioned Stevie.

I'm not a fan of Steve Francis.

But even I had to vote yes in this poll. It really can't get worse than what we've seen to date, and in regards to knowing the plays and whatnot, it's not an encyclopedia of plays out there at this point.

I don't blame Adelman if he doesn't play, though, I'd blame Steve. I can't imagine Adelman is not playing Steve out of stubborness.

ok, Rockets management TRIED to make FOOL THE REST OF GM's that Rafer was without a doubt the man at the point for the Rockets, sorry Daryl but you tried to hype him up and get decent value, but at least now bench the guy and give others a try.

He was up and supporting his teammates last night which is definitely a good sign... I want to see him play too but at this stage so early in the season it's not gonna happen. We all know he can help this team in some way, hopefully coach gives him a chance to prove/disprove it at some point.

    you should add other options:

yes if he helps the team
no if he doesnt not help the team
yes regardless of his effect on the team
    no

this is a more scientific poll.
