Talent-wise he is levels above Rafer or MJ. I don't care how badly he played during the pre-season games but they were not real games. In real games he will perform better than Rafer, no doubt. He absolutely deserves some minutes on the court. What problem is he having w/ Rick?
If he is going to take the Point Guard position he is going to have to be threatened by the coaches that he will be sent back to New York in a trade if he doesn't pass the ball in a timely fashion. If Francis signs on the dotted line then play him and retrain Raffer [possibly on another team] After all Morey has certainly made some blunders with this team. Now Coach 'A' needs to think a new! Even I could do better with the game plan than Coach 'A'.... a]Rafer brings the ball up and passes the ball . b] Rafer if he gets the ball back acts as a playmaker but never sets himself up c] Rafer no shot attempts. d] Rafer guards the opposing Point Guard at all times. One on One defence, never tries to double off his player.
im willing to bet the francis supporters are the same people who dont want marbury here. they are virtually the same player and both are cancers.
Ummmm.... I don't/didn't want eitather one here. They're both prima donnas that want respect even though they haven't earned it.
Les Alexander, Morey and the rest of the front office cannot be immune to the cries of "We Want Steve". They are after all human too. I have to believe with all the hoopla and efforts over the summer to bring Francis to the Rockets and with his past history that they too are eager to see him on the court. Especially Morey who always checks the statistical measure of a player. Adleman has to be aware of the pressure. You can bet that there is pressure coming from all around to play Francis. At the end of the day, Les Alexander still owns the team. He cuts Adleman a check and allows him to coach the Rockets. Remember the Golden Rule of business," He who has the money makes the rules". If he says please play Francis a few minutes, then coach is going to oblige. It's always good to do what the boss wants...it's better for your career.
I like Steve, and I like him better than Rafer, but if Adelman put him on the bench, its for a reason, so Im not complaining, but I would like to see him playing, when he is ready to play in his best level.
and Adelman knows more than you and everyone of you francis huggers combined. fact is, there's only one thing inhibiting Francis from playing, and that's HIMSELF. he came to camp out of shape...he's been underachieving ever since he left the rockets. i guess some things just never change.
I haven't watched the game tonight on my tivo yet......was Stevie Franchise on the active roster....or even at the game?
I don't think Scola is ready to play but he is given chance to work his game he might be the only back up forward, but if you are going to let him play and he is not ready then why not let Francis play and work on his game
Yep, Im first of all a Rockets fan, so I dont care about only one player, but I like stevie, and I want to see him playing some minutes, but only, like I said it before, if he is in a good shape.
1) Scola wasn't out of shape 2) We are severely lacking depth at the 4 unlike the glut we have at the 1. Scola only played tonight when Hayes was in foul trouble.
If I want to see Francis playing? Yes, absolutely! I don't think he is The Franchise anymore, but let him smell the floor, let him taste a real game, real opponents, let him hear the crowd... Let us see if RA is right, if he is just a memory or if he can be a factor. Just few games, let us see Steve Francis. Things will not be that worst than with Alston.
