I don't know if that will be allowed.

Crispee,

This setup has flaws.

Yeah, I wasn't quite sure about that PF position, though it does look correct based on who else was on the roster at that point.

I'd say 90% PF, 10% C, but maybe someone who was alive back then could help! Old geezers! :)

mango, sorry, i screwed up

well anyways i edited the pick, based on numbers i found, i hope this one is better

i do know basketball, its just being a 80's generation guy a lot of the beginning rockets are not as recognizable to me and i saw how red needed a backup pg without even correlating blue being filled at the position, late night brain work i guess

I don't see any legit picks out there, after I announced Round 8. Can anyone spot a good pick made in order?

Mango, you should have voided SaFe for making a 7th round pick in the 8th round. Doesn't matter...we have a long weekend. I never expected this to end before Monday. It's all cool.

But true to draft order, I will void all selections since my last post. Everybody is free to try again. Let's try it again....

8th Round Blue to Pick then Red

Next time, if you see a pick out of order, try to get a correction, then void it and move on. The more important problem is not letting the draft get out of synch, or players selected w/o a position designated. This is by its nature a slow moving game. Have fun with it.

btw: I am pretty positive Newlin was never primarily a PG. It was Murphy and then Lucas.

DVauthrin,

No picks are good since my 8:30 post. We are still in the 8th round with Blue selecting, then red.

My table in page one shows all the legit picks.

feel free to try again.

Hottoddie with a BIG PICK at wingman, showing mfclark why Mobley could have been a PG for Blue to stuff Red by making them look for 2 more PGs.

Round 8 and Red to Pick.

I think Mango's pick of John Block at the 5 is legit and should be counted for the red team as their pick in round 8.

Also will blocks be included in the scoring system?

The Big E would be at a disadvantage if blocks were included since they didn't record blocks back when he was putting up 28 a game...

no, I didn't take Block, because I voided Newlin as a PG, plus he was taken in the wrong round. So, Maybe Mango wants to take Newlin.

Round 8, Blue took Lantz, now Red to pick

Crispee,

I've got a couple of questions for you on the scoring system.

Your instructions indicate that the player's best year will be used for scoring purposes. My question is: How will the different catagories be weighted?

For instance, player A has a high PPG & a moderate to low RPG, while player B has just the opposite. How will the catagories be scored & what kind of point system will be used?

I don't know, however standard Fantasy League scoring does it. Maybe someone from the Fantasy League forum can tell us.

In the end, I think we are going to find that the 60's and 70's Rockets beat the 80's and 90's at Fantasy league.

Round 8 still waiting for Red to pick

anyone can make the selection who hasn't already selected. Go to first page of this thread to see a list of players already taken.

crispee,

(not topic related...sorta)

There are certain lines in movies that I just cannot let go...much like "Warriors, come out and playyeea".

So, when was the last time you saw War Games? :D

Thanks for the memory.

Is this thing still active?

I wish the teams of Fantasy GM were more structured.

Perhaps two teams of 6 GM each picking twice.

1 & 7
2 & 8
3 & 9
4 & 10
5 & 11
6 & 12

Or

1 & 12
2 & 11
3 & 10
4 & 9
5 & 8
6 & 7

------------------------------------------------------------------------------------
Newlin? Why pick another Wing player when the 1, 4 and 5 are more rare positions? Wing is a combination of the 2 & 3 which means that the talent pool should be roughly twice the size of
any other spot on the roster.

If the other side maxs out their roster at any one position, then that position should be shifted to the absolute lowest priority in future rounds because the remaining pool of candidates will be your own private fishing hole to be brought in at your leisure.
