The spurs are the defending champs and are red hot. Golden state hasn't proven anything in the postseason. If you ask me the spurs are still the favorites to win it all. Their getting g healthy at the right time and they know how to win. I would rather play golden state then the spurs.

That was in 2011. Here's their current record:
    2013 Spurs vs Memphis Playoffs
    Spurs win against Memphis (4-0)

2013-2014 Spurs vs Memphis Regular Season
    Spurs win against Memphis (4-0)
    Oct 30, 2013, Spurs wins 101 - 94
    Nov 22, 2013, Spurs wins 102 - 86
    Jan 7, 2014 , Spurs wins 110 - 108
    Apr 6, 2014 , Spurs wins 112 - 92

2014-2015 Spurs vs Memphis Regular Season
    Spurs tied against Memphis (2-2)
    Dec 5, 2014, Spurs wins 107 - 101
    Dec 17, 2014, Grizzlies wins 116-117 3OT
    Dec 30, 2014, Grizzlies wins 87 - 95
    Mar 29, 2015, Spurs wins 103 - 89

Some people say that the injury-filled December isn't indicative of the true capability of Spurs. That even in the face of injury, they only lost 1 point in triple overtime, makes them a better team than Memphis.

The Spurs, in my opinion, is at their weakest in the 1st round. I for one wants them earlier, rather than later.

Man, the Spurs are one of the hottest teams in the league right now, the level they're playing at is easily the highest it's been all season, they are peaking at the right time.

As a Rockets fan, I certainly like my chances against them more than GS however.

Okay then we are assuming that they will automatically beat out Memphis for the division? Even so Dallas took them to 7 games last year ..we just assume that Spurs will beat Dallas? That's why they play the game. Lets not watch the playoffs the spurs are on pace to win the NBA playoffs .

boy, we don't play perfect basketball, heck, we don't even play great 48 min of a game.

But we sure are able to match the level of our opponents and find ways to win. Next test, the final test--these next two games vs Spurs in a playoff-like schedule.

Would be great if the Spurs can get up to the 4/5 seed and take out the Warriors in Round 2.

Hope these Warriors aren't our new Seattle Supersonics. In any case, I'd rather not have to play them

Only a masochist WANTS to play the Spurs in the first round.

You play them if you must.

Preferred first round opponent? No. Just... no.

This would be ideal. Give me mavs, grizz, spurs, cavs/hawks in that order. That gives the rockets a shot at the title.

Gsw aren't losing to anyone but the spurs, and the rockets need them out.

For a team that has essentially struggled to get past the 1st round...seems funny to me that there are fans who would want to face the Spurs. When we play against a playoff geared Spurs team, we will really find out how good our team is. Our two upcoming games will show their real strength...

But I think the Spurs really like where they are now...Anything to position themselves vs GS for the West Finals seems like a Pop thing to do. No the Spurs arent afraid of anyone...but I do believe they'd rather play the Warriors once they've picked up playoff BBall speed.

Dallas vs Spurs was a epic 1st round battle, but in the end...Spurs were just to efficient. Then they proceeded to trash Portland in 4 games...to cruise into the West Finals and eventually the title.

We can play them in the WCF.
    After they've knocked off GSW.

Not fair! I was going to type that. ;-)-

I hope the basketball gods give us Dallas in the first round. I think we could sweep them if everyone still left on the Rockets that isn't in a suit is reasonably healthy. Sweep Dallas and hope that whoever we play in the 2nd round has a tough 6-7 game series. That's my dream scenario. After the season we've had with the "i" word, we could use a break. I don't particularly care who we play in the second round, either. I just want us to get there. If we do, I like our chances against anyone. This team badly needs to win a series. I think it would do wonders for the confidence of our guys. Thank goodness, we have some players with a lot of playoff experience. It'll help.

Doubtful we will sweep them. McHale is not a good enough coach to sweep any team in a series. Only way we sweep them is if the Rockets just get hot randomly.

Spurs just have so much successful playoff experience, they're scary.

But on the other hand, what if this is the year the wheels fall off?

I wouldn't mind facing them. Media and fans are overreacting to their hot stretch--they're still 6th seed. If they win out, I'll change my opinion. But the Rockets better at least split with them, in which case... they won't win out.

That said, I hope they face GSW in the second round and knock 'em out for us.

As far as I concerned, staying at 2#seed and Spurs being the 5th seed is the best situation. I don't think spurs is not that good team we even anyone can defeat. I hope that Spur shock off the worriers cause I see them unpleasantly. As a result, S1 2nd ROCKETS VS 7th DALLAS, Rockets win. 5th Spurs vs 4 PORTLAND, Spurs win.

I'm indifferent. Yes, they'll be a much tougher match-up than Dallas. But, all the teams in the playoffs are going to be tough. Rockets are going to have to beat the best teams to win a championship. I think they have a credible chance of beating any team in the league in a playoff series, Spurs included. It'd be convenient if we have to play only 1 of Warriors or Spurs, but no one's going to be a cakewalk. So take what comes.

And, if the Rockets win, imagine the trash-talk we can do if we beat the defending champion Spurs and the league-leading Warriors. It'd be like the '95 team that beat 4 59+ win teams to take the trophy. Ok, not that good, but a nice piece of trash-talk anyway.
