Rondo has better defense, playmaking, and he's a better finisher.

Beverley has a better shot and a better free throw percentage.

    Thoughts?

I don't think Rondo would throw his body onto the train tracks for the Rox the way Beverly does.

Why are you assuming its one or the other?

If we have both, Rajon Rondo will be starting so Patrick Beverley will have a greatly reduced role.

I don't know if there are more than 4 or 5 point guards that are a better fit alongside Harden than Beverley is.

First, I'm not entirely convinced that Rondo is a better defender than Beverley at this point. He is still a great defender, but I think he's riding a little on a reputation he earned back when the Celtics are elite.

He's definitely a better finisher and playmaker than Bev, but being as Harden is our primary ball handler, I'm not sure that him being a better playmaker would be fully utilized.

I really worry about having both him and Howard on the court at the same time. They are both terrible free throw shooters. I also think everybody on the perimeter on this team needs to be able to nail the open three.

All of that said, I'm a devout Moreyite. If he wants him, I'm in.

If my choice is between those two, I take Bev. You think Rondo would've made 4 straight free throws to close out last night's(or this morning's) win in Denver?

You should have offered a Dragic option. I do not want Rondo AT ALL but think Dragic would help us!!!

I'll make a Dragic thread when the Suns announce that he's available.

Bev is the perfect fit for this starting lineup. We need a playmaker off the bench AKA Manu Ginobli or someone similar.

    Beverley is a better shooter.

    He is a better rebounder.

The tenacity in that guy is unbelievable.

Rondo is a star, but a star that doesn't fit in our space!

I must admit I've never been a big Bev fan, but I'm beginning to appreciate more what he brings to the team, and has really improved this season.

It would be intriguing to have two great playmakers on the floor (Harden & Rondo), rather than Harden having to do it all. Plus we need his playmaking for when Harden sits.

We get Rondo and flip him for someone else. Classic Morey move right there...and in my 2K mode.

    Neither option...

I don't trust PBev's health... based on the concerns about the potential for injury, I think we need to have another starting caliber pg on the roster...

That said, I don't think Rondo is the answer... too many negative possibilities....

Watching the Denver game last night, seeing Ariza and Harden worn out at the end leads me to believe that if this pace continues, both will be worn out by the playoffs. The trade the Rockets need to make is one that relieves the burden on them.

If Rondo helps in that regard, then im fine with him. It would just be Rondo and Bev for 48 minutes, hell for opposing point guards.
