Perfect description of Andrew Bynum and instead everyone wants him. Not to mention Bynum is very injury-prone.
Skill wise I would take him anyday for a reasonable amount. But I would have to pass on him for all the bone headed stuff he has done in his career. Not the kind of guy you would want in the locker room.
Sorry Red, but Bynum and McGee aren't even in the same class of center. I think McGee is still a player I would rather have on my team vs. not have, but he's far from a first class center. He has freakish athleticism, but on the court he's just not a productive center, nor does he command space in the paint like a Bynum or Shaq would. He's going to have a long career because of the things that he can do despite his faults, but sometimes people just confuse "raw" with "not very good." He's just not very good right now. He can improve, but he's not going to become a superstar center overnight when he is this far behind in his development. Still if the Rockets were able to somehow sign him to a reasonable deal I think he could really help the Rockets out. Just like a Dalembert or Camby, the holes in his game will keep him out of 4th quarters when the game is on the line. If you can't rely on big to be someone who is the difference maker in a close game then IMO you are better off looking in another direction for a player who is going to be making close to max level dollars. You can get that same production for 20 to 25 minutes a game out of lower cost big man.
Would Parsons and McGee make up after that tea-bagging incident? Might make for a frosty locker room otherwise.
