Tilman just got access to about 250 mil in low interest...

The NBA is selling $193.2 million in senior secured notes, borrowing against their national media rights flows.

The NBA’s Hardwood Funding LLC subsidiary is selling four tranches of debt in uneven portions of $60 million, $93.5 million, $20.8 million and $18.9 million. Based on disclosures by Fitch Ratings, which rates the debt A-minus with a stable outlook.

Teams can elect to take advances of up to $275 million from the league against the flows, according to information contained in reports by Fitch Ratings.

The NBA now has $6.7 billion in debt with this week's sale. A year ago, the NBA had $5.4 billion in outstanding debt. In 2019, the league had $4.5 billion in debt.

The NBA rating is similar to the other major pro leagues in North America, although Major League Baseball and the National Football League maintain lighter debt-to-annual revenue levels of about two-to-one, while the NBA’s debt level right now is about three-to-one.

As far as the question of the rebuild...it hinges primarily on two things:

    1. Getting a high pick in this draft, best case is obviously #1 (hopefully Cade or even Green, I like both these players)
    2. Stone needs to draft very well, especially in the 1st Round. If only Stone had Presti-like luck, and draft consecutive All-Star, MVP-level players. The rebuild would be accelerated at light-speed.

Morey's biggest flaw (in my opinion) was that he rarely drafted well in the first round, or attached first round picks to get certain players out of Houston.

I hope they are gonna spend when the time comes .... but I'll believe it when I see it.

As for Morey always feeding us the "we're gonna sign an allstar" line every year ..... To his credit , he was always trying to do just that. It just didn't work out on many occasions.

I think Tilman came in as a know it all who can do it better than the last guy ..... at least in his own mind.

He thought that and got a cold dose of harsh reality .... The question is did he learn from the meltdown that he cause .... or not.

If he did learn from it , I think we can count on the front office doing things right and Tilman writing the tax man a check when its necessary .... If he didn't , we're the new Cleveland Browns - a couple decades of suck.

I've seen you mention a few times trading EG for a "good return". That assumes he's a positive asset ..... Is he ?

I kinda see him as a negative asset at least for the coming season. He's played 36 & 27 games the last two seasons .... while shooting .317 & .329 from three in those two seasons while he's owed a guaranteed $37,787,178 for the next two years.

Like Wall , you may have to attach assets to him to get a team to take that contract .... If that's the case , I'd rather let time take care of it than throw away assets.

Gordon was held out for the second half of the season by management, IMO. His absence gave room to develop the youth. He prolonged his career and cashed his paychecks with no ware to his body. The next two seasons will be for his final contract so look for a vastly different type of game from him. Gordon is a super talent and will be showcasing himself as such to land on the next team that will pay him for the last time. The start of this coming season is do or die for him if he wants one last big contract. Next season’s trade deadline he needs to be traded to wherever is his destination. So I look for a more than positive season out of him. House is in the same situation. I foresee a fast start to next season from both Gordon & House; and both bringing a solid return going to a win now team.

Tbh it's cheaper to rebuild the right way.

    Tillman will see that.

Billionaires don't learn new things. They already know everything.
