You are acting like a child. You need a time out.

I consider myself a Rocket optimist, but we're not beating the Lakers this year. I hope we get a game from them. We could win one in Houston, but that series won't go more than 5 games.

you're probably right. most likely the lakers will beat us in 5 or 6 (although EVERY game will be tightly contested). let's hope it goes to 7 though. the team will have so much more confidence next yr.

I wouldn't even think about the Lakers any time soon... I think its funny that after one game, we are already in the second round. We usually go up 2-0 in the playoffs. See Mavs in 05, see utah when we went up 2-0 and lost in 7. We have a long long way to go before this portland series is over, even if we go up 2-0 on their homecourt.

Jinx thread. It's thinking like this that led to us blowing it against Dallas and then Utah. One game at a time.

If we have a great PG, such as Billups, we would have great chance to beat the Lakers... No doubt

If we can sweep the Blazers and Lakers 4-3 Jazz, we have a good chance to beat the Lakers.

no chance. we aren't anywhere near their level. i also disagree every game would be close. the lakers would beat us soundly at least once. i think some people here still think of the lakers as last years lakers, and the rockets as last years rockets, which played the lakers well.

matchup wise, they got better, and we got worse.

our success depends largely on inconsistent boneheads like AB, ron ron, and von wafer....... just think about that for a second.

No chance, come on…. You’re a fan right?
I would give us a slim chance.
The match ups are not that bad, except fore Kobe.

We lost every game this season against the Fakers, that’s a given, but I wouldn’t say they are a more talented team, again excluding Kobe.
Gasol is a pain for Yao, he is quick and just big enough, but if Yao gets established early we have a fighting chance.

And boneheads.... well its hard to argue that with the way Ron plays sometimes, but I cant lump AB and Wafer in there. They are young players and will make mistakes, but they will and often do amaze us.

Can we beat them in 7, maybe with some luck. I wouldn’t say I would expect it, but I would expect 7 hard fought games, and one hell of a series. I would be extremely disappointed in the Rockets if we got swept by the Fakers, they are a great team, and I hate them, and I hate their coach, and I hate their fans.

Lets take care of Portland and see what happens.

No. Just plain and simple. They are healthy all around and their bench is so deep. They give the Rockets match-up problems which we already saw.
