Tonight we played like a team on a 22 game winning streak. Tell me that team couldn't beat ANY team in the playoffs.

    Chemistry FTW!

    PS. Add a poll.

PPS. We can beat ANYBODY, including the Lakers, Celtics, Cavs, etc playing great defense like this and great one on one players like Yao and Artest and explosive role players like Mandry, Wafer, Brooks, and Skip to my Lou.

Yes they can....as long as Yao is healthy...they can compete for the WC championship without Tmac.

Only half true. Of late, we have won or competed in every game without TSlack (except for maybe Indiana when Yao was hurt), but we have been very consistent with TSlack. We consistently lose or barely win ... more often consistently lose.

Did you watch the bench team that started of 3rd quarter? We ended up
outscoring them in that quarter but the first few minutes before Yao came in, they kept turning over the ball and having offensive problem.

I sure hope so because this Rockets fan is tired of seeing May 1997 as the last time the Houston Rockets won a NBA playoff round!!!!!!!

Please Houston Rockets of 2008-2009!! Just win one playoff round (or more) so that the decade of the 2000's (2000-2009) will have something positive, instead of seasons where it was either no playoffs or playoff elimination after only one round!!!

If they play like tonight's game consistently until playoff, I would say: "Yes, we can."

Yes. The talent is there and it shows up for big games. We would have got out of the 1st round last year if Rafer hadn't missed the first 2 games.

Brooks is better this year though too.

As long as they avoid Port,La, and Utah. This team is better than the one when Yao went down last yr. Brooks,Ladry,Scola, and Wafer is better than their rookie yr and wafer is better than head. Plus, the 2nd best player wasn't as good as artest. That's why I wanted them to get artest last year and they wouldve had a good shot to beat La last yr with tracy and artest plus the support, but they stood pat.

Utah will depend on Boozer's status. I think we can beat Portland. LA is the only team that we have no shot at whatsoever.

I think we have a shot at beating LA ... not a great chance mind you, but we still have some chance.

Utah is just not a good matchup no matter how you slice it. They're the Sonics to this group. Artest will pay dividends against them, but I don't like the 4/5 matchups even without Booozer.

Artest would have been a half-year rental, and I believe we would have had to give up Brooks and other players to get him.

And I can't figure out why you're saying they would have had a good shot to beat LA last year, when you've been arguing this season that they have no shot at beating LA even with Tracy, Yao, and Artest, and the improved supporting cast. That doesn't add up.

What was the score to that game? Didnt we lose by less than 3 points?? I think the Rox can indeed make the 2nd round, unless we play them or the Spurs. As long as everyone shows up, and we get excellent chemistry just like last year, I'm positive we can make it out!! We didn't have Yao last year in the playoffs, but I think we can all agree Yao is more valuable to the team then TMac.

wow, that's a bit too optimistic.

i'd give them a 50-50 chance of passing the 1st round - give or take depending on whom we play.

but wc champ with this squad is a bit questionable.

(it would be ironic if we pass the 1st round w/o #1; and probably destroys his confidence even more.)

Because last yrs Artest was way better than this years artest. Not only that, the Lakers were still unsure of what they could accomplish and still young. This version is a lot more mature and know they're the best team in the west by a long shot. Don't know if Bynum is coming back, but he might and Ariza is a huge asset unlike last year when he got hurt. I feel last year was a very good chance to do some things even without Yao. Maybe Ron will regain some of the form he had last year, so we will see I guess.
