Thats another thing I forgot to mention, Rafer has good leadership at moving the ball around.

Man if he would bring back Skip to my Lou and be fancy with his passes once in a while that would hype the crowd up in which would hype the players up.

isn't a two year contract fine as it would expire at the same time TMac and Yao's option??

Darko would a nice younger back-up than Deke

one suspects we have made all the moves we can for now and will have to wait till the deadline to make any other moves, although before training camp to see how the chemistry is going and also if Steve can still play at any decent level

Agree with this trade a whole lot =)

Then trade chuck for rodney carney, the dude is athletic as can be and can still develop the long range that we will lose from luther plus he can drive and dunk on people and is still very young.

Already did this trade in my 2k8 association, worked wonders for my team ;)

Those are all the scrubs that have been in and out of the Rockets roster for the last 3 season.

It shows that we've come a long way since Morey arrived.

Every day I check to see if it has gone down yet! Infact I check several time a day!!
I feel that the Wizard has one more trick up his sleeve!
    Things to decide upon:-
    Roster max 15 players
    Mutombo to make a decission.
Landry to sign on the dotted line
Dorsey to sign on the dotted line
    Hayes to recover.
What to do with Head, Leunel, Harris,, Hayes and AB ?
Can Francis play again at the NBA level?
What do we need to improve upon?
If we do what can we get and what will we give for it?
Will we cut the two recent acquisitions?
These qustions and more should be all answered by the end of training camp :p

Sorry butI stiil see a trade!
Besides this I see Dorsey as the Yao backup, especiallly when we go to our small line up.
Mutombo could retire or he might rest, awaiting injury time or the playoffs.
Shooting Guards- Why keep Head? I see Barrry as T Mac's backup.
    Francis is still questionable! :p

As LoveROX hate jazz poitns out, our roster is pretty balanced at this moment and there's really no need to do any trade other than to help a player (such as harris to land on another team since it is unlikely he would get any playing time this season).

As the season progress, however, we may find steve to be done and brroks to be incapable. If that were the case, then a trade is likely to happen to bring in a PG.

I just don't see Luther HEAD (the fan popular chioice) to be traded away unless it can bring us a better backup PG. But again, that backup PG could be all set if we had a decent steve francis.

I like the Head for Sean Williams idea. Williams makes sense for us at the 4/5 for depth and Landry insurance purposes. Head makes sense for NJ since their bench consists of guys like Trenton Hassell and Mo Ager. And what the hell, NJ might win a whole 7 games this year so what do they have to lose?

Ray Felton is both unlikely and not worth it. The Bobcats literally have no other PG's or guys even capable of filling in there besides Felton and Augustin. Plus, what could we offer that Charlotte wouldn't laugh off the table?

I don't see any major moves other than maybe moving harris or strawberry for a 2nd round pick? if that?
Sign Landry, Dorsey, Deke and let the season start.

I agree that if Francis and Brooks don't pan out, Morey will trade for a PG by trade deadline. Until then, keep the tradeable assets on hold.

    Tradeable assets:
    Head
    Hayes
    Francis (if he can't contribute)
    Brooks

I think you are giving Rafer too much credit here. he is about 35% on all of those above listed skills.

Rafer would probably tear up a church league, but he is clearly the bottom rated starting PG in the West. I have never been impressed with his skill set except he protects the ball well and the team seems to respond to this court leadership. I consider him the last weak link in the starting lineup.

Remember the beginning of last season, a starting lineup of Rafer, Battier, Hayes, TMac, and Yao, which, offensively, was TMac and Yao against the world. Compared to the rest of the league that was an exceptionally "offensively challenged" lineup, especially with TMac and Rafer shooting in the 30% range. For the most part, Hayes wasn't even shooting.

Rafer is a great leader and defender and you can't dissagree with that. but his ability to hit open 3s is ridiculous

we are set for players 1-9
    yao/tmac/artest/scolar/alston
    barry/battier/landry/brooks

players 10-15 should be specialists. Dorsey, Deke, Hayes, and Head are all specialists, perfect for their roles. We need a pure shooter like Head in that group.

I think Morey is done trading for the pre-season. Unless Landry wants out..

Does the qualifying offer count towards the MLE?

If it doesn't then PFs floated on the trading block:

    Landry+Head+Strawberry* for Travis Outlaw
    Landry+Strawberry* for David Lee

*Cannot be packaged in a trade until 25th October.

    TMac/ Head/Francis
    Alston/Brooks/Barry

It is obvious that our guard rotation is weak.
    Morey should not stop here.

Strawberry is a good pick up, but Rockets need more.
