Do you think there will be any other trades before the season?

I would love to see Morey go after a guy like Raymond Felton. He is still young and has an enormous amount of talent. The Bobcats just spent their first round pick on D.J. Augustine and I figure that makes Felton expendable. Some combination of Head, Hayes, and 2nd rounder should get it done.

    Thoughts?

Well they did just draft a pg with a lottery pick....

umm you do realize we would be receiving a pick in that trade and not giving one up?

I still think the houston rockets need a Reliable Scoring/Reb back up at the 5 spot and Joe Smith sounds good or even Darko who is on the block what i heard.

    Nope.

This is the final roster going into the season.

    Yao/Hayes/Deke
    Scola/Landry/Dorsey
    Artest/Battier/Barry
    TMac/ Head/Francis
    Alston/Brooks/Berry

All we need is for Morey to land us a 1st rounder, or early second round draft pick by the trade deadline.

Darko has 2yrs left for over 7mil remaining. We'll have to give up way too much to get him. Joe Smith has over 4mil left and this is the final year.

Joe Smith can be plugged in as a backup 5,but he is a 4. He can't bring more than Scola at the 5.We need a true backup 5 to eventually replace Deke without a doubt, but Darko is not only expensive but an inconsistent player as well.

I agree with you...I think if we sign those three...not much else should be done unless it is a real upgrade. Just sideways trades or trades for picks will only weaken us this year.

I still would love to see something similar to a Head/Hayes/Brooks for someone like a Barbosa though; although seriously unlikely to happen. Other than that, I don't see why we need to trade. The other two guys we just picked up will probably be cut.

Wow, I would love to have Felton on this team too, do whatever it takes, say bye bye to Rafer, Chuck Hayes or any role player on this team. I WANT FELTON!

    At least he can shoot???

    Felton's career stats:

    FG%: .396
    3FG%: .327
    FT%: .778

He's actually one of the worst shooters in the league. His stats are barely better than Alston's, if at all.

    Alston's career stats:

    FG%: .386
    3FG%: .357
    FT%: .725

Alston and Felton are two of the worst shooting PGs in the league. I also agree with the notion that the Rockets are better off with a PG that can shoot 3s. Felton shot 28% from behind the arc last season so he's not improving in that area.

i don't see anymore trades, unless it's a 2 for 1 type of a deal, we dealt away next years 1st, plus our biggest expiring, and greene for artest. we really don't have much trading pieces left except maybe steve and luther's expiring. i expect us to sign landry sooner than later, same goes for deke. we will probably start the season as is. having dorsey and hayes does take some pressure off yao, he can rest and the those 2 can play defense.

I agree that Dorsey looks like he has the potential to be a very good NBA defender but he hasn't played a single game yet. Even if he does turn out to be a good defender, it may not happen his rooke season. Second round picks rarely make an impact their rookie season. I know Landry did but it is still rare, especially on a contending team. Let's reserve judgment until Dorsey has at least played 1 minute of NBA basketball.

Why does everyone think we need a upgrade at point? Last year we needed Rafer to score this year we dont. We need a passing game from Rafer. Dont need him to be a damn scorer.

Felton a better scorer??? WTF, wow, you guys just got it stuck in your head that Rafer is sorry. The only trades we need right now is something to lower our salary cap to be ready for next year or even mid season.

Secondly you start to add too many new guys you start to mes up the ..... dang I forgot the word (how well everyone know the routines/plays and how well everyone knows each other).

The Sonics were buzzing about Robert Swift last pre-season, they were looking at him as their starting centre, but he got injured.

    Chemistry :p

You're right too many people feel there's a need to upgrade Rafer. Not many PG's out there deliver the combination of leadership, defense, control, and ability to hit the open 3 like Rafer does. All he has to do is do what he does best, take care of the ball, play good D, and hit the open 3. There's four people ahead of him on the scoring option chart.

IMO we don't need a backup PG either because Brent Barry could be effective at that position especially as a setup man. The only thing I'd like to see us do is add some length to the front court so we're not undersized again incase Yao misses some time.

Agreed, more than happy to go to war with that roster.

Best depth chart for the Rocks in a long time - and obvious improved star power with our newly minted big 3.

What is going with your sig dude? Some very nostalgic names there.

Apart from the fact they're ex Rockets is there another common denominator you had in mind?
