I understand he didnt win them year, but he never made it to the finals them years either. I just find it hard to think that Mike being in the finals and letting his team lose not once but twice.

I agree with you on that becasue Mike only played I think 17 games that one year that the Rockets won it all. But we all seen what happen when Mike came back fully recover 72-10 and 69-13.

The Bulls weren't going to win 8 championships straight. I am among those that believe Jordan's season and a half sabbatical was a necessary recharge for the Bulls to get their second 3 peat. Pippen needed to be the man for just a little bit or else he would have pulled a Kobe. The team needed to bring in Rodman, Harper, and Kukoc to reload. I don't know that these things happen if Jordan doesn't skip a year and a half.

And though people feel it somehow doesn't count, Jordan was there when we won our second. They got their rears handed to them by the Magic - Jordan or no, they needed Orlando to implode. Shaq-Grant-Scott-Anderson-Penny was a nightmare matchup for them. Our ending Nick Anderson's career and otherwise shaking that never-to-be dynasty to the core in the Finals played a big part in the Magic's implosion and opening the door again for the Bulls.

Both years we would have beat them, but for different reasons. In 93-94, Jordan's scoring would have been down because he'd have Mad Max glued to him the whole time. In 94-95, we would have won because Hakeem was playing at an even higher level and because (although we lost Max and some of the defensive intensity), we gained a huge second scoring option in Drexler.

the reasoning for his not making the finals wasn't his skill. he was dominating the league.

it was the role players. once he got grant, pippen (overrated role player),cartright, paxon

    he won his first 3.

the 2nd 3 was directly responsible by this guy who helped the Bulls face the powerforwards of the West.

Oh, Rodman also helped the Detriot Pistons with his rebounding, and
David Robinson in 1995 got his "MVP" trophy cause this dude was a rebounding force.

Jordan won 3 championships when he came back because he didn't have to worry about rebounding? Uh.. ok.

that first Bulls team with Grant and Pippen and Paxon.
    We'd destroy them.

the 2nd Bulls team was much better with Kukoc, Longley, Harper, and Rodman

I believe that too that 8 was too damn many to win in a row. But I think he would have got one of those rings. People are forgetting how great Mike was. If you look him in the eye and told him he couldn't do it he will do what you said he couldn't.

    Not again.

I'm guessing anyone who's been around here long enough knows my feelings on this and why, so I won't go into detail, but in short: Jordan was way overrated. Hell yes the Rockets would still have both those rings.

These points cannot be emphasized enough!

So many people continue drinking the Jordan Kool-Aid yet never bother to consider how much impact Rodman had on that second three-peat team.

Forget eight straight, the Bulls wouldn't have been able to win four in a row had Jordan stayed in the game. It's just not possible to maintain that kind of dominance as the rest of the league adjusts to you.

... but by the same token, the 96 Rockets may have lucked out in being slaughtered in the second round by the Sonics. If that team had played the 72-10 Bulls in the Finals and lost, then David Stern would likely have demanded them to deliver the 1994 and 1995 championships to the United Center.

he's the best rebounder in the game on his team, that helped against the Karl Malones and Shawn Kemps

you really want me to drop how many boards Rodman got those years?

    ok

    14.9 per game
    16.1 per game
    15 per game

How about imagining putting a REBOUNDING CHAMPION with Yao and Tmac?

this is really an old question with no true and definitive answer. no one will ever know. so all the arguments are just opinions or beliefs. i can't prove you wrong and you can't prove me wrong.

my firm belief is that we'd have won both anyways.
